RWBY & RT General Discussion Thread (V1)

Man but I am intrigued by those blue falling stars/clouds in the opening though. If that really is Jinn and Ambrosius and those two really do hang out in the Ever After when they're not on call then that opens some absolutely intriguing possibilities for Team RWBY to completely upend the game board that Oz, Salem and others in history have been playing on by interacting with the Relic Spirits not as wish granting Mcguffins and world ending plot devices but as actual people they can hang out with and talk to more casually.

Considering how Jinn for example clearly seemed to favor helping Ruby break the rules over helping Cinder in accordance with the rules and how there's been a big theme of RWBY and co finding loopholes that let them get help from the Relic Spirits in ways that they're not supposed to I can see a lot of ways for the blue siblings to exploit the current situation to give RWBY as much help as they can.

One thing I think would be cool for example is if the rules/chains that bind the spirits only applies to things within their own fields of expertise.

So for example Jinn is the spirit of Knowledge and is barred from answering questions outside the Big 3, but Ambrosius can spill his entire kettle of tea but is limited by what he actually knows.

Meanwhile Ambrosius is forbidden from Creating anything aside from the 1 specific item at a time that a mortal has requested via using the Staff but nothing is stopping Jinn from using Creation to help the girls make something that would be far beyond their own capabilities to create, though she'd be limited by some other factor like only having so much juice, or needing raw materials, or something else that's her equivalent of Ambrosius not being all-knowing.

*looking up from the Zoids 40th anniversary news*

I honestly don't think those falling objects are the Relics. My guess is they are Alyx and the person with them in the mirror.

"There will be no victory in strength."
"Victory lies within a simple, more honest soul."

Ruby and friends aren't the protagonists because they are the smartest or most powerful.
They are the protagonists because of what they manage to inspire in others....and each other.

Ruby and Yang have basically inspired each other their entire lives.
Yang inspired Blake to take better care of herself and reminds her to be brave.
Ruby inspires Blake by being what Blake once saw herself as as a child.
RBY inspire Weiss to be strong and stand tall against her father.
and so on.

Wait why are they fighting?

It's a long running RWBY/Injustice thing.
Basically a RWBY/Justice League crossover over on deviantart where the Injustice scenario happens and the TONS of art is basically the fight intros from the video game.
Some things I remember are;
Ruby and Jaune are with The Regime (Jaune even has a Superman-like attire)
Weiss is with Batman's resistance
The Bees are on BAD terms because I think Yang caused Blake to lose an eye
Pyrrha is dead, and thus a Black Lantern

So it's RWBY characters, Injustice characters, and a number of "DLC characters" like Freddy Krueger

This is one of those posts that I hate for making too much sense.
Totes fair and same.

I view this as applying to Yang as well in the sense of never really being sat down and told, "Hey you get to be a kid again, sorry you had to step up like that" (Not sure if she would have had the chance anyway given how things went in canon) So she just like, never stopped filling a parental role and Ruby never stopped having to be just OK, no matter how rough things got.

When you realize you've just torn a child from their home and neither they nor you have the slightest idea how to get them back home. xD

Looks like She-Ra.

Little's house was adorable. As were they while building it.

And Weiss was just hilarious, when not being heartbreaking. Which was also Ruby's role. God, her eulogy for Penny...
Ah yeah. Found it. From "Return to the Fright Zone".

Netossa: Oh, you don't believe me. That's--That's fine. I'll just demonstrate. Entrapta's weakness: tech.
Entrapta: {crashes}
Netossa: Mermista's: fire. Frosta's: also fire. Adora can't act to save her life. Also, extreme hair-envy with She-Ra. Glimmer: crippling self-doubt mixed with overwhelming hubris.
Glimmer: Whoa, whoa, whoa, that's, like, really personal compared to fire.

XD

Fae logic
I love how the girls TRY to be genre savvy but keep getting derailed by the fact that they're actually IN a Fairy Tale with fairy tale logic.

No you don't get to sequence break and skip to the end of the story, physical distance doesn't matter in a story, just where you are in the narrative.

Sure you can try to avoid making the mistakes in the original fairy tale, won't help you though because the price you will have to pay for being a good little girl is too high to accept. Also you have your own character flaws to work through.

Also the way they name dropped Curious Cat and emphasized how the racoon was working according to his role in the story further strengthens my belief that Names and Purpose are a big thing and heavily connected in the Ever After.

Also interesting is that it's specified that the Ever After is specifically the name of a single fairy tale, and not the inhabitants own name for some fairy tale melting pot where every fairy tale world exists in the same place as once.

Which makes me wonder if all those doors inside the tree don't necessarily go to other Worlds but instead go to other fairy tale worlds instead. Or do that in addition to going back to their world.

Also with how its really clear that this world almost exactly follows the outline of the fairy tale I wonder if there's some collective belief thing going on where humanity literally creates new worlds with their stories.

Related to the tree theory I wonder if that means that the tree can take the girls to the Girl in the Tower Fairy Tale and meet a more innocent and idealistic Salem whose story ended at the Happy Forever After.

And also if they can meet the Four Seasons and other potential useful allies.

Gods but this trip is really showing potential to not just be a breather but also a game changer that in some way is going to let the girls make a play that Salem will never be able to see coming.

Speaking of which I would laugh so hard if the girls speak to Ozpin when they get back and expect him to know about the Ever After and possibly have kept it secret only for him to ve absolutely flabbergasted by what they tell him. xD
