so, how much you want to bet that the show won't really bring up the people Cinder blasted off the platform and that detractors of the show will wave that flag around as they scream in their echo chamber "bad writing!"

Honestly, while I could easily assume they were dead on the grounds that Cinder blew them up, I could see the girls making finding any alive an objective, maybe even find some, which would make their return that little bit more triumphant... And for that matter, maybe Alyx poses as one at first.

I find it unlikely, but that might just be me viewing the civilians as more of a narrative tool than something to consider the wider implications of.

Crackpot or maybe not so crackpot theory time.

You know the part in the volume 9 opening where Team RWBY seem to enter the world tree and then find that's it's a huge endless foggy sky/void filled with floating roads that lead to doors?

Lots of folk think it might be a crossroad dimension that has doors to every other world/dimension/universe or something like that.

If that is indeed the case then what if RWBY try out a whole bunch of doors and various shenanigans happen, including one or two Noodle Incidents that are strongly implied to be what caused the DC crossover movies to happen?

I know both crossover movies and anime movies are practically always non-canon but it would be fun if they could get some V7/Arrowfell tie-in bits that justifies and explains when, where and how the crossover takes place.

It wouldn't even need to be a big thing either. Just have them go in one door, close it, then a bit later they come out again looking a bit ruffled and have some of that DC trailer glitchiness surrounding them. "Nope. Not that one." they could say and then they move on.

Lots of fairy tale focus this volume, with Alyx in particular getting a lot of focus. We even see a in-universe Fairy Tale book.

Think there's a chance we might get Fairy Tales of Remnant v.2 after the season is over? If so I hope they use that design for the actual book.

Given that Ren and Nora are there, I don't think this is a case of the cast picking the wrong door on the way out of Ever after.

Unless, as is often the case with DC comics, the door opening is enough for the realities in question to get wonky. DC's reality is... fluid at best, after all.
Or the door just leads to a wonky alt-Remnant and current RWBY sorta fuse with their earlier volume counterparts. Hence Yang having a robot arm despite seemingly being pulled from her Beacon or pre-Beacon days.

Or both. Somehow.

... Look, it's DC, reality changes on a daily basis now. EVERYTHING IS CANON- oh wait, I've just been advised that has changed, and now there is a specific canon, revolving around an issue of 'Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen' from the 70s, doesn't include the Nu52 (except Batman), and the issue of Batman where Joker says 'Boner'.

I'll show them how many boners Ironwood can pull!

Anyway...

hmmm...
Anyone got any thoughts on Weiss being shown as Upside-down?
like, in the poster and the opening we see her upside-down.

another thing from the opening, how they fall while climbing the tree
Weiss, Blake and Yang seemingly manage to brace and look ready, while Ruby clearly falls and was not ready and has panic on her face before they all fall back.

what ya think?

You don't go to the tree, the tree goes to you.

Maybe their mindsets/character growth wasn't at a point where the tree would accept them so it changes the rules to make it harder for them to reach the top.

Cinder: *spending all of her time being whacked-out paranoid about Neo coming out of nowhere to shank her*

Nora: *subtly creeps up behind Cinder and tees off*

*meanwhile, in the Ever After*

Neo: *eyes catch on fire*

Neo: " "

(would Nora scream "fore" beforehand? of course Nora would scream "fore" beforehand)

No clue on Weiss being upside down, though I guess from her perspective her life's been flipped turned upside down with the loss of Atlas?

All I can take away from the tree scene is that, that sucker is biiiig.
