Oh, the irony? You mean the irony of FRWBY fans whining about being criticized while their entire fandom is built on the premise that RWBY is so broken it needs a total overhaul by their self-appointed savior?

Yeah—that irony?

You’re not some stoic intellectual pointing out a paradox. You’re just parroting the laziest deflection in the book. “You criticize our criticism, therefore you’re hypocrites!” No. That’s not irony. That’s projection.

People criticize FRWBY’s writing, and its defenders immediately melt down, shift goalposts, or start moralizing like a cult defending its prophet. You don’t get to play the “woe is us” card when your side can’t handle the same scrutiny it claims to excel at dishing out.

So yes—there is irony here. It’s just not in the way you think. The only real surprise is how fragile your camp gets the moment someone calls your “fix” what it is: bloated, biased, and badly written.

Check this out:

Dude has the audacity, gall, and nerve
to whine about Yang being a hypocrite while actively making her worse than her canon self in his controversial "A Red Rose in the Blue Wind" fanfic. It’s been THREE YEARS, bud. Go home or go broke.

*double checks another site*
eeeyup, I thought that name of Iron117Prime sounded familiar
it's the bugger who on the Hunters of Justice thread keeps harping about Ozpin and how Teams RWBY, JNPR and the Justice League will react to Ozpin's lies/secrets.

Funny how no one remembers a good chunk of Volume 6 when it comes to "Yang and Jaune shouldn't be yelling at Ozpin and Qrow!"

Funny how selective memory conveniently turns into a participation trophy for throwing tantrums. Sure, Yang and Jaune did yell—and who wouldn’t after a trainwreck of secrets and betrayals? But there’s a world of difference between raw stress and fear, versus RRBW’s version of Yang playing moral executioner, coldly condemning Qrow as a manipulative monster and threatening to kill him.

And?

Random aside but some musings on Pyrrha and how I think she is one of the more normal, less hardened characters even int he V1 era compared to Ruby, Yang or Blake:

Pyrrha is indeed an incredible fighter, however I think that her lived and trained experience was focused on that over being a Huntress explicitly.

I wanna do a video on this at some point, but I find it interesting we never really saw Pyrrha engaged with the plot until V3 where she seemed uncomfortable with RWBY's extra curricular adventures and started fraying almost the moment she was put near the conspiracy.

Don't get me wrong, Oz & co handled her terribly and the prospect of identity death would be freaky. But I still think its noteworthy how quickly Pyrrha started to spiral and to otherwise seem so normal,

This ties into how I view Ruby & Yang being more OK with killing, like they don't 'want' to but they will if they deem it necessary and not shed any tears over it. Killing doesn't say anything about their morals or character to them it was just what they needed to do to survive. Blake meanwhile has 100% killed but feels awful about it and so never wants to do so, she deems the ability to do that violence and having done so is a mark on her character. Meanwhile as discussed Weiss had a relatively normal socialization in regards to such things.

I think Pyrrha falls in the Weiss camp where the idea of killing other people never really entered into her mind, and that her training didn't really condition her psyche for some of the more messy parts of being a Huntress, because she was as you said a tournament fighter. She definitely had the heart of a Huntress, I just think how quickly she got stressed or uncomfortable with certain topics compared to some others indicates a more normal world view.

Low key something I think would be kind of fun in V10 is Ruby maintaining her "Olive branch first" attitude, but adding another layer of "Fuck around and find out" to the exchanges. For instance, having some kind of encounter with Jax & company or perhaps some more minor threat:

She opens all polite, "Hi, I'm Ruby Rose" but the second they start making a move to attack or threaten she just petal bursts into their proximity, grabs their hand and politely but firmly (Bone crushingly firmly) shakes their hand, "The pleasures mine" she says, smiling.

She'll also be likely giving Theodore -1 chances given the burns she got from Oz, Lionheart, and Ironwood. Trust is a risk, and last time she trusted someone in that high a power, people died.

Eh, I doubt that. Especially now that Ruby was given the chance to take a breath thanks to V9 and get her head back on.
Not to mention the "Beacon Brigade" is at Shade and can vouch for Theo.

If he does start causing problems I could see Ruby asking if he is still doing that "Beat me and become Headmaster" stick.

Followed by "Yang get-em" if the answer is yes XD
