RWBY & RT General Discussion Thread (V1)

I love how you can see Blake visibly cringing every time Weiss lists a thing that's happened in her little "we're not in a Fairy Tale" argument.

Because to Blake it's not just Weiss listing weird stuff that sounds like it belongs in a fairy tale like it does for us, to Blake the rant is basically beat for beat listing specific plot points from a specific fairy tale.

She's read books about those mice, those vines, that bastard racoon. What even are the odds of that happening if they're not in a fairy tale.

OMG the little stars around Yang's head are the same colors as RWB! 🤩

I love little details like that. 💕

And unlike Weiss, she clearly remembers the details of said book, and it's going EXACTLY as she remembers. And she clearly also remembers that fairy tales aren't always cleaned and sanitized by Remnant!Disney...
Yeah. That "Alix started a war" sounds pretty ominous when you look at Fairy Tales of Remnant and see that being a Fairy Tale world does not preclude it from involving war, death, permanent disabilities, racism, mass infanticide, and genocide. 😨

No wonder Blake is so focused on not playing the part of a morality tale.... Though it is also unexpected and hilarious that Blake is in full "I'm going to get an A+ in being a children's storybook protagonists, which is normal to want and possible to achieve" mode.

Definitely not something I excepted to see this volume. 🤣

Also when I first saw the trailer and stuff I thought Jaune with the helmet felt a bit to edgelordy, but with how things are going now I wonder if maybe he's just been slotted into the role of a White Knight character and literally can't take the helmet off. xD

I love how the girls TRY to be genre savvy but keep getting derailed by the fact that they're actually IN a Fairy Tale with fairy tale logic.
This is a great insight, saving it for future reference :D

Seriously, I love your examples ala sequence breaking and prices paid.

Oh definitely agreed with you there, I'm also reminded of some meta I just saw about how the Ever After is both a fairy tale and a child's fairy tale, IE, the Jabberwalker would probably be scary to a lone child, less so to three huntresses; or how they pay with stuff in stuff like hugs and vague concepts and that being how lots of kids play, IE "I'm a fire fighter, I'm a doctor, ETC."

Mhm, true, true.

Oh that'd be wild and make things even more meta!

That'd be kind of cool, gives things a Digimon vibe too.

Oh shit, that would be buck wild (OO)

OK, not sure they will have the time for such stuff, but it is extremely cool as a concept.

Salem: WHat the hell is that!?
Ruby: Magic fae mirror thing from a story to the left of yours.

Ozpin: Girls, I can guarantee to you that what you just told me is the most bonkers shit I have ever heard.

I think he's gonna be absorbed into the role of the rusted knight, just as the main cast is Alyx's.

Little is the best.

They really are. :3

Also I love how when Jinxy asks Ruby to full a glass jar with hope he holds it up so that it looks like the Penny doll/sword is inside it, signifying how she's reached the point where she no longer has any hope left.

But then when Jinxy realizes that Ruby doesn't have enough hope to fill the jar he holds it up again and this time it looks like Little is inside it, signifying how Ruby's kindness and past actions lets her make friends and allies who can help give her hope when she needs help.

I loved going back to look at that scene & actually seeing Little look at Ruby and then start mimicking, it was so CUTE!!!

Mhm, I love that they are so good at working in all these subtle little cues, clues and and depth to scenes.

ok does anyone have the ability to frame-by-frame a video?
I thinking I spotted the lilypad scene from the crunchyroll trailer inside the burning book in the v9 opening
