That'd be fun but I am unsure it'd be suitably dramatic, that conflict feels less like its exclusively his than it does Oscar's, ya know?

It's more part of how I feel Ozpin and Ironwood will be having a confrontation over their ideals and beliefs.

Maybe, but I feel that cuts Oscar out too much in a sense, we'll have to see how Ozpin has grown, it could work but I'd be ambivalent to him taking too much of a leading role.

My usual theory is along the lines of Oscar being just Fucking Done trying to negotiate with Ironwood, but circumstances resulting in them running in to each other... and Oscar 'politely' informing Ironwood that while he's said his piece, there's someone else that wants a word, and handing control over to Oz. (I think how those two handle the steering wheel in V8 onwards will be interesting)

That could definitely be possible, though in keeping with the "Oscar is better than Ozpin" I feel like Ozpin and Ironwood's talk would devolve very quickly into "Fuck you dude." XD

A good set of lines!
Though depending on how one defines betrayal~

Episode 2 of The Grimm Campaign is up. From here on out it will be FIRST members only, though episode 1 should now be available for everyone.

I am digging these episodes. I love the emoji character portrays, hope those get expanded on in the future to show wider ranges of emotion. Talespire continues to intrigue, it did an excellent job of making the massive Grimm battle be more exiting and easy to follow. The Grimm figurines continue to look gorgeous. I hope the Huntsmen can get their own figures as well if this campaign goes on long enough.

Kuchinashi is quickly becoming one of my favorite Remnant cities despite hardly seeing it. It's a very interesting place both on the inside and the outside.

I was a bit skeptical of Skye's Semblance but seeing her make creative use of it to turn it's disadvantages into an advantage now made it one of my favorites. I love genuinely clever uses of power's like that and Skye continues to prove that she's the smartest person on the team.

To recap for those who didn't see the episode. Skye can use Dust to heal people by essentially "splitting the atom" with Dust, ripping out it's raw energy and giving that energy to people so that it becomes part of and restores their Aura. However the elemental effect of the Dust is still there and has to go somewhere so every time she uses her Semblance she gets hit with elemental blasts. She hurts herself to heal others. It seemed extremely limited and kind of useless but when the group were backed up against a bridge by a horde of Lancers and needed to retreat Skye used her Semblance on a crystal of Wind Dust to heal Asher (who was on his last leg) and then the wind blasted her backwards onto the bridge, essentially letting her hit two birds with one stone by healing a teammate and retreating at the same time.

So basically Skye's Semblance is severely limited but by being smart and tactical about which Dust crystals she uses for it she can turn it's drawbacks into an advantage, which seems like it has potential to make her highly versatile.

Bill Gates and Rope were MVP of this episode.

I saw some great quotes from the episode and will be watching it properly soon, it sounds amazing and your summary was excellent that is a genius use of Semblance and a neatly limiting set of restrictions that encourage creativity, very cool!
YEEEEEES!

and it was probably worse then one initially thinks.
I mean think about it;
Summer was their leader
She was a Silver Eyes warrior
She stepped up and took care of the family that Raven left

In so many ways Summer was better/stronger than Raven, and she still fell to Salem/Salem's forces. If someone like that fell to the enemy, then what hope does she or anyone else have against Salem in the end?
Kinda feel bad for birdmom.

also, on the note of how one handles grief, then you can say Yang ended up showing both of her birth parent's responses. She shut down like Tai and also at times lashed out like Raven.

Oooh I really like this, that makes so much sense! Kudos for the insights!
have a fun thing
I love that song XD

If anyone here has considered getting a FIRST membership I would recommend getting one for a few months at least to watch the Grimm Campaign. It is a riot. :D
Agreed, it is so fun, I hope the FNDM doesn't sleep on it.
Oh gosh I love it XD

Random thought of the day. It occurs to me yet again that I really wish they'd had time to have Weiss interact with Blakes parents. Because dear lord, those two would welcome her into the extended family so fast...

Ghira: Oh Blake, there will be some new additions to the family.
Blake: Who?
Kali: Your team, we have the adoption papers ready.
Blake: Not Yang, she's only joining via marriage to me.
Ghira & Kali: Fair.

I've commented on this before but part of the reason the military forces (including Kingdom defenses) has been because with the tight budget & deadlines the show hasn't really had room to spare for any action that doesn't involve important characters. It's why battle scenes tend to boil down to a few scenes here and there of soldiers shooting at stuff and maybe the occasional airship but otherwise it's just heroes doing heroic stuff. With the biggest notable exceptions being when the military stuff was the enemy (Black Trailer, stolen Paladins, hacked Paladins, Colossus) and for that reason I've been looking forward to the inevitable conflict between the heroes and either Atlas as a whole or the SDC in particular.

I think its likely that next volume will show us a lot more of the good stuff that Atlas should have access too, such as Paladins or other big mechs:
310
350

mooks with sniper rifles and miniguns, maybe grenades and rocket launchers and stuff too
UEkailT.png
(or even jetpacks based on that Chinese mobile game)

possibly some more elite robot units
GPMBil9.png
1c1oqdc.png

maybe a chance to see those giant battleships/carriers in action.

or even some of the more obscure stuff like the mines and turrets from Amity Arena
96
95
94

Now I've mostly been thinking of this from a "this could give a lot of cool fight scenes and give more world building on Remnant military forces" perspective. However while I think the cause would primarily be a Doylist lack of resources it would be very fitting from a Watsonian perspective if the story has Atlas bring out all it's biggest guns and shiniest toys, not to defend Mantle, maybe not even to fight Salem, but to hunt down PennyRWBY so that Ironwood can complete his "Screw you, got mine!" plan.

It would be such a perfect summation of how screwed up Atlas is if it had a shitload of fancy military equipment that could have prevented all those Grimm attacks that caused this entire mess from happening, but held it back because the slightest risk of any harm coming to Atlas City is unacceptable while all of Mantle is an acceptable casualty (Mantle? What's that? Some sort of fish?).

Fair points there and that could be very cool, though admittedly given Salem is literally on their doorstep I am unsure they will have that kind of time. Still, would be very neat, Falling Towards the Sky shows how awesome jetpack battles can be and more mech types would be a sight to see.

Also, impulse control:
