*sighs* and that's another fanfiction dropped because the author and the commenters are on Ironwood's side :/

Oh dear what happened/my sympathies (Hugs)

the fanfic "Don't Fall" where Ruby ends up in the past after falling in the void
chapter 2 came out, and it turns out Ruby has found herself weaponless 12 years in the past and inatvertantly rescued Cinder from the Madam before even knowing it was Cinder she was saving. in the chapter the came across a young Ace Ops Captain Ironwood, who Ruby mentions to that the Madam was using a shock collar and that gave Ironwood pause (long enough for Ruby to Petal Burst away with Cinder). Ironwood then has one of his Aces check Madam's records. In the authors comments at the end the apologize if they made Ironwood "to nice" and bring up how none of his subordinates did anything about him until the end, and in the comments you get the usual Ironwood defends claiming character assassination in Show Ironwood and how Ruby were indeed traitors.

The woman in the cutscene is Venat. Twelve thousand years ago, the world of Etheryis was a utopia where most people wanted for nothing, and creation magic catered to all their needs. Until it was laid to waste by a disaster called the Final Days. In the beginning of this disaster, Venat, a woman who traveled the world helping anyone in need, met an adventurer from the modern day, who had managed to travel back in time in hopes of finding out the cause of the Final Days, which had started to afflict the world again. The first disaster was only averted by half of mankind sacrificing themselves to create a godlike being, a Primal, known as Zodiark, who managed to restore the physical laws of existence that had started to fail.

In the aftermath, new life was born, new peoples and races, but a portion of the survivors decided that the best option was to sacrifice half the remaining population to Zodiark to have him repair the world, then sacrifice all the new life in an attempt to have Zodiark restore all the sacrifices to life. Venat, with the help of some of the other survivors, stopped it in the only way possible, creating another Primal, known as Hydaelyn, with Venat as its core. She sundered the world into fourteen reflections, with the life force and souls divided among the reflections.

No one but Venat knew of that adventurer from the future. No one knew that the Final Days would come again. And that perfect utopia, with no pain, and no real growth, lacked the strength to stand against it again. When she sundered the world, the reflections would have people with no access to creation magics, mortal lives, struggles and dilemmas the perfect utopia had forgotten. And so, for twelve thousand years, this kind, compassionate woman, who had spent her days helping others, was forced to watch the suffering of fourteen worlds, to endure being barely able to reach out to help them. To endure crippling blow after blow as seven of the worlds did not survive, all in the hope of holding the world and its souls together until she would meet that adventurer again.

Also, the background song for it, Answers? Players have been debating what it meant for over nine years. We got an answer with this cutscene.

And to think, this glorious story 10 years in all started with the fiery destruction of the original version of the game to that same song.
The man behind this story is amazing.

Look, I love a good spiky haired Napoleon Complex as much as anyone else, but I'm not going to pretend he's anything but a walking sewerage heap :)

.... Wait.

'they're short, regularly screw over everyone for their ego, and kill innocent people solely because someone else was stronger than them.'

Vegeta, or Neo?

You know Pug, it occurs to me that Endwalker is a good counterpoint to the Atlas arc in other ways.

The evacuation of the planet is treated with all the seriousness it deserves. Sharlayan knows the entire population of the planet won't fit in the ark, yet they and the loporrits were determined to save as many people as possible. They look for ways to speed up the transfer of civilians and resources, while defending them from the threat of the Blasphemies. And more than that, when there are possible options to save a larger population, or even counter the entire disaster, they try it. Even though some of the Forum, thanks in large part to cultural arrogance, distrust the Scions to some extent, they can see the larger picture, put aside old issues, and TRY.

Ironwood only wishes he had the moral courage of the Forum :)

So, watching some people bullshit about RWB drinking tea, and it occurs to me, this is potentially another example of Ironwoods failing. Tell me you can't see him running on stimulants for all of V8, instead of delegating the crisis to Winter for half an hour so he can at least close his eyes.
