Well the gist is that The GodBros gave Ozma 2 options
Get humanity to unite in a non greedy way, or they smite again.
We also had Light say it was a "failed experiment" and Dark busted the Moon on his way out.
In FF14 (which I will put in spoilers in case either you or Matrix care)
The big bad group are moon people that view the people of the world as broken, pale imitations of what once was.
Turns out a great cataclysm broke the world into 14 worlds, with this group being the only ones spared.
They desire to bring the 14 worlds together, but in doing so it would basically be the end of the world.
Sure the people like yourself would still be alive....but you would no longer be you.
At least that is my understanding, and thus the overall message is that despite the world being broken and filled with bad, it still has plenty of good in it. As Gaijin says in the video it's basically "in the time that we have and the people that we share it with that we find joy and purpose".

Back to RWBY, what have our heroes constantly done? Fight against the inevitable and find alternate solutions.
The Gods gave 2 options, Ruby and friends will offer a third. The world is hard, cruel, dangerous, and things are broken, but they are alive. They have people they care about and dreams they want to see through. Ruby could very well give a variation on the "we don't need adults" speech she gave Qrow back in V6.

And speaking of Ruby, one thing I don't think I have really seen gone into for a deep dive, is the Duality baked into her entire character.
She is Life and Death wrapped up in a red hood.
Her design with the color red, the hood, her choice to swing a scythe all embody Death, and yet her energy, optimism, personal goal, and her Silver Eyes all embody Life.
Heck, she is both "Little Red Riding Hood" herself AND The Huntsmen from said story. Sweet, kind, occasionally lost on her path, but she does not always need someone to save her.

but ya I still hold that RWBY will end not with a climactic battle to kick the gods out, but with Ruby and friends standing firm and united.

I mean, heck, Remnant was made as a compromise and a joint effort.
