what about the idea of Roman and Adam butting heads yet reluctantly working together, but nearly come to blows at the end of V1, only for Cinder to sashay in at the end and set the 2 straight with a clear reminder that she is The Bitch In Charge of this operation of villainy.
I don't like Adam, but Roman being smug over Adam just feels grand to me.
