RWBY & RT General Discussion Thread (V1)

Heh. Btw Sana Freeman / Fang posted concept art they made for Arrowfell. It included the cave paintings posted earlier but apparently Atlas also has a serious gambling district with Two of Clubs luxury resort and casino, as well as the [can't make it out] Dragon roulette/blackjack and my personal favorite: GRIMMDARK high stakes poker. 😁

Started playing a New Game on Arrowfell recently, trying to get the 100% completion this time and making sure to talk to Pietro and Maria between each quest to see if I can get new dialogue. 💬

Just started the Ace Ops hazing quests and Pietro mentioned that he made all the weapons used by the Ace Ops. He's especially proud of his work on Harriet's Fast Knuckles because it was hard to make an exoskeleton that could keep up with her speed. As can be logically inferred he also mentions that the idea behind it was to give her raw power equal to her extreme speed.

It's a potent combination indeed. Atlas really spares no expense on their elites... Except for therapy that is.

That really is the sad thing about Atlas and it's forces.
They were as interchangeable as any of their mechanical forces.
If a robot breaks, swap in a working unit.
A soldier dies, slot in someone with roughly the same ability/skill.
As Harriet said when they lost Tortuga they found Marrow slotted in her place, and when Clover died Winter was put in that role.

Huh, neat to know the tools were specially designed for them, it makes sense, and also makes the HH's uniform weapons make more sense, most of them wouldn't have had the money for personalized weapons and unlike Patch there's not a strong culture of self identifying and personification.
Yeah this confirms a fan theory I saw on Tumblr where someone pointed out that Elm's rocket launcher had a product number (or something like that) on it. Which would not be the case of Timber was a custom job that she built from the ground up.

I wonder if Robyn is the only HH with a custom weapon because she went to school already fully intent on breaking away from the broken Atlesian system and fully aware of the drawbacks that would entail. So she designed her weapon from the ground up to be cheap and scavenger friendly while the others got taken in at first and had to replace their weapons with cheaper and easier to build and maintain alternatives when they broke away from the school to military pipeline.

I've seen a few stories use that with pre-Show May in particular, giving her a weapon with expensive requirements, given her family background. They often then have her give it up before it destroys their budget, because it was a weapon essentially assigned to her.

Yeah I've read that one too, it's where I got the idea.

These are true facts:

Mhm, I remember that theory it made a lot of sense, I mostly find it intriguing that this likely means even though Elm's weapon is 'standard issue' its likely been enhanced to work better with her Semblance.

As to Robyn, possibly, I think a lot would depend on if she was attending knowingly with the others or not too, or what their fighting styles look like outside of the weapon, IE Fiona might have been a bare knuckle boxer.

Something I would also love to see in the DC movie:

Wonder Woman: We weren't teenagers before this, right?

Bat Man: Well I both feel like I should be in my mid thirties or maybe fourties but I also feel like I've been in my late thirties for more than eighty years. So to be perfectly honest I have absolutely no idea how old I am or how time is supposed to work for me. By all accounts it doesn't make sense.

*looking at the poster*
Hmmm let's see....
- it looks to be based on art from M.C. Escher.
- Only Yang has her weapon.
- Yang is floating in the air and backdropped by the clouds we've seen her in in the trailers.
- Yang is reaching out to Blake.
- Blake is standing tall as she looks up at Yang.
- Blake is backdropped by the Red Town we saw in the recent trailer (red grass at her feet and a building behind her).
- Weiss is Claude von Riegan.
- Weiss looks like she is climbing onto the windowsill and her backdrop is not familiar and I can't tell if she is looking at the camera or Ruby.
- Ruby is looking back with a look of worry.
- Ruby's backdrops are the Beach and Tree dead center, but also the Red Chess Court at her feet.
- Little and Curious are present, indicating that both will have a big role to play.
- There is a Zwei face on Ruby's pouch.
- There are leaves swirling around, and there are 2 things of note about them.
- 1. The leaves are the same color as The Tree.
- 2. The shape of the leaves are similar to Maple/Fall trees, which have been used in the past for Pyrrha.
