sus out any in-hidding WF

Ironwood would need to be paying attention to the White Fang for that to matter, and Cinder took care of that with a Salem-shaped flag in V3.

catalysing his paranoia for later volumes

Gonna bet this guy thought the paranoia came out of nowhere, like Ironwood didn't have a speech about trust issues in V2.

depicting Cordo as an actual scary person

Because a hyper patriotic military officer who has clear issues with other nations, potentially blind loyalty to her commander, a need to prove herself because she was reassigned to Antarctica and access to a giant robot isn't scary.

Well, at least not in the way anon could understand.

The story explicitly says the CCCT towers are linked, and he expects a freaking electronics course to be held on screen. The effort he puts into not engaging even the most basic of critical thought is amazing.

And V4-6 would be the same if communications were up? I mean, it's not like RNJR traveled cross country because the borders were closed, Menagerie had no idea the white fang were involved at Beacon until Blake arrived, and even then she struggled as it was just her word against theirs, Salem was able to take her time with Haven, and the heroes inability to just call Ironwood to let him know they were coming wasn't a big problem of theirs in volume 6 OH WAIT.

anyone ever see fanart for Insect/Arthropod Faunus?
I have vague memories of such things but no access to them, sorry ><

Gosh I am so glad I blocked him on Twitter & Tumblr, their arts competent but that's the only positive I have on them. Just so very dumb.

Like, you'd think someone who thinks themself a good world builder would enjoy engaging with a setting that leaves itself open to exploration, but apparently not. And the fact they were obviously designed as such as a deterrent against sabotage and to encourage coordination, oh well, that's apparently too fucking subtle.

Hahaha, well said.

Okay, let's see... uses 'Oum' as a replacement for God, that's a fanon cliche that needs to stop... A bit more focus on Oscar's grief during that part, with Maria helping out, that's actually clever. It's the sort of thing that I imagine the show would have included if they had time and budget. (Side note, that's the kind of fic I prefer over 'rewrites' that have 'fixing it' as a goal. Scenes that could fit into the larger canon, expanding and working on filling the gaps they didn't have time to address).

Hiding half the team in the mail and hijacking the bullhead? That feels like change for the sake of change, as opposed to a better plan narratively... This is accompanied by the general feel of Ruby in this scene being far too childish, along with Qrow being more insulting and dismissive of the team, not to mention the general plan being less well thought out. No one on board knows how to fly the bullhead, and they trash the doors, before flying back into the radar, because here NO ONE THOUGHT OF DISABLING THE RADAR STATION. The radar station that had already been mentioned in story by Terra, as a way to bring it to the characters attention. This was just making the plans failure the heroes fault, as opposed to enemy action like the original version. Then Cordovin breaks out the big mech, without any provoking by Maria. This actually makes her more reckless and incompetent then the original version, where it was in large part due to Maria using the fact they'd been busted to provoke her.

More authors notes hyping up how amazing the Abusive Ex was, with use of the phrase 'old Adam'. And complaining he didn't get a moment as cool as the takedown of the Spider-mech in Volume 6. He tried that buddy, and Yang caught it!

...

...

Oh for FUCKS SAKE. After stalking Blake across a continent, he shows up, Yang shuts down and Qrow fights him, then everyone else including Cordovin in the mech, he gives Blake a plan for taking the mech down, and fights with them in a plan that requires them to trust him not to stab them in the back. They end up doing it without him getting the big moment, but he still has the plan, as opposed to the heroes in the original. Meanwhile Maria and Oscar are hiding and not contributing at all because in this version the Bullhead isn't armed. And Cordovin suicides when her mech is disabled...

That's it, I'm out. Engine, you have found a fic that embraces all the modern interpretations of 'Rewrite' and I salute your efforts in diving into the pit of voles.

It was always weird but its in especially bad taste now.

Wow this person made the entire story vastly stupider and somehow thinks its better, it hurts and also nice insight there, so badass of Yang, love that for her. Also them talking about Adam being nerfed makes me want to laugh, he was a threat but he was never portrayed as some unstoppable force, all his victories relied in his Semblance, ambushing or psychological manipulation, usually a combo of all three, he never just won a fight cos he was powerful.
Why is Cordovin even involved in this, why is Adam helping anyone, why is any of this happening, I feel like I'm dying of oxygen depravation and my synapses are just firing wildly.

Cordo got very angry about Adam Taurus, apparently she'd heard of him. As for why Adam was helping, I didn't have enough investment in the story after Cordo suicide detonated her mech because it lost shields to stick around for the retconned reason.

I made a hot take about deaths that were more impactful than FRWBY!Vernal and people are livid. By “people”, I mean members of the Sketchy Huntsmen.

How could any death be more impactful than that of the Sketchy Huntsmen's daughteru!Vernal?!

But I'm mostly just losing it at these specific comments:
You deserve every word thrown back at you for repeatedly insulting the artists who have done nothing to you. You've been reposting their work without permission and you go insult it in your posts. Just a flagrant disregard for artists and their artwork. Not to mention the lying.

In case you weren't aware, EngineGear here has been insulting other RWBY fan projects and harassing artists, on top of reposting their artwork to encourage harassment towards them. All while professing about his own rewrite project and personal works. He is a two-faced fraud.
...from The Floof Artist, best known as the nutbar who spammed a photoshopped image of Blake stabbing Yang at the VAs and fans over the two of them killing Adam, and who also has this unhinged vendetta towards Barbara Dunkelman over her mocking his obvious-bait question at a convention.

(He also once made a bunch of bizarre gross claims about me as a person based off of one of my stories, which is pathetic enough without acknowledging the fact that literally everything about his description of my story that he based these attacks off of was completely inaccurate. It's like RWBY "critics" have zero storytelling comprehension ability...)

Edit: I should also point out that the guy Floof "works" for as part of the Sketchy Huntsmen (because Celtic Phoenix doesn't pay anyone who works on "Fixing RWBY" a single cent, despite deriving profit from it for himself) is a fellow who spent three hours insulting and attacking Kiersi Burkhart for being a queer woman joining the RWBY writing team. Just to drive home the irony and idiocy of his "attacking artists!" handwringing, because RWBY "critics" are absolutely obsessed with the idea that they themselves deserve to be completely immune to criticism.

I'm just going to ignore the idiots and focus on what really matters. Which is this time next week I'll be playing RWBY: Arrowfell! 🥳

I've been waiting in anticipation for this game for so long and now it's right around the corner. Can't believe it's almost here. From now on we're in single digit "less than a week" number of days countdown mode.

Just got to keep busy with work and take walks and read books and stuff to keep myself busy.

Anyone know if Wayforward has posted any more teasers recently? I haven't seen anything but I also don't have (and considering recent events never will have) Twitter.

That's a nice way to say you decided to be an asshole and post Chainsaw Man spoilers without tagging as a desperate attempt to get a one-up on a fanfiction that lives rent free in your head.

Well, excuse me for not immune to criticism, but neither are them. They're too thin-skinned to accept the truth, spoilers or not. Floof's done worse and harrassed others way before me, and somehow I'm the bad guy. Maybe I am the asshole, but as I see it, I’m the lesser asshole.

Fair calls but also aaaaaah my brain!

I mean that is accurate, you can lliterally summarize a scene for them and they will go "That's not how it happened" even if its as bare bones as "Ironwood threatened Jac"

So true bestie, also please buy me a copy ;)

Seriously though that will be cool, I think I might buy it as well, I haven't gamed in ages.

I can check, one sec: They did one eleven minutes ago!

Well depending on the price it wouldn't be a huge burden to give a one time donation to your Patreon that matches the price of the game, or at least puts you most of the way there. ;)

Seriously though I wouldn't really mind. At least not at long as you used the game as inspiration to write more RWBY fics like that Warcraft crossover. :D

Bianca Prisma is the leader of the quartet of Huntresses known as Team BRIR. Serious and strategic, she has a strong sense of duty and wields twin prism daggers. Look for her in RWBY: Arrowfell, coming to consoles and PC on Nov. 15! https://bit.ly/RWBY_Steam
Prism Daggers? Well color me intrigued. It looks and sounds like she might have weapons that utilize Light Dust. Not Hard Light like the force fields, but actual light as in flashlights and flashbangs and that kind of thing. Possibly rainbows too based on the prism thing.

I suspect we will have to fight the members of Team BRIR at some point throughout the game, either due to misunderstandings, secret villainous motives, brainwashing or whatever. If so then they probably already have combat moves programmed into the base game.

Makes me kinda hope the game will get DLC where you can play as them, similar to how Risky Boots gets her own campaign in Half-Genie Hero where her moves as a enemy boss get tweaked slightly to be player character moves instead while Shantae's player character moves get tweaked into being boss moves.

well, I came across one of those "Nitpick November" posts, and it actually made me think.
long and short of the post itself was "Magic = Aura?" and the poster was confused because for them they saw Winter's aura break during her fight with Ironwood, but then after she gets the Winter Maiden magic and arrives in Central Location we see her using her Semblance.
Now here is where my thinking started.
What we saw Winter do was not her using her actual semblance, but using the Magic in a similar manor.
Like, Winter has trained her semblance and skills with it for many many years now, so using her glyphs to send out a swarm of birds or using them for platforms is second nature to her. So now she has this new power she is not familiar with, so channel it through a means she actually knows.
I mean we see Penny form a Magic Construct version of Floating Array after becoming a flesh person.
And all of Cinder's Magic Construct weapons are obsidian/glass, something Cinder herself is VERY familiar with.

What do you lot think?

That'd be super awesome to be honest, (Seriously though no pressure) fun aside I also have a Ko-Fi which is good for those. Also a friend of mine is doing writing commissions if you're interested.

I appreciate that and it definitely could, though right now I need to focus on my NanoWrimo ><

I'll be very interesting to see how they handle such a weapon sounds like there's a lot of potential there. Also such a baller design!

That makes perfect sense to me, its natural characters will subconsciously and consciously default to using new energies suffusing their bodies in the most familiar way possible.
