ah yes, 5 or 6 new characters at least, so much bloat
compared to the 11 new characters in the atlas arc (Ace, HH, Pietro, Willow) on top of the handful of returning characters (Ironwood, Winter, Penny, Jac, Whit, Klein).

We don't give CRWBY enough respect for the design work that went into Ravens gang. From the moment they appear on screen, there is no denying that they are losers. Their weapons are literally normal guns with knives taped to them, their outfits are shoddy, they live in tents that are stitched together from whatever they can scavenge from villages they've attacked. These are not roaming nomad warriors, living apart from and above civilisation. They are parasites, attacking what they can, stealing what they can, and running from the consequences.

The only reason they haven't been wiped out, by the Grimm or just fed up villagers, is Raven. The woman who has power, and uses it to rule over her 'kingdom'. She gets the nice tent, the nice clothes, the custom made weapon... making it all the more obvious how small and pathetic her gang of thieves really is.

one thing I keep seeing Yang-detractors bring up, is her playing Nutcracker with Junior's juniors

what about some of you lot? thoughts on Yang getting handsy to show she means business?

so we have at least 2 posts of twilight responding to the "Shad was totally not sexually harassing Yang and Yang is in the wrong for punching him"
and a post of Syto judging a book by it's cover as he cries "cast bloat".
The only reason I'm bothering to response to twilightguardian's obsession with me is that they keep digging themselves deeper and deeper every time they do. (Also the fact that they're someone who flips out at the idea of people criticizing Fixing RWBY, but has threatened to "criticize" my own writing in retaliation, because what's hypocrisy and double standards when you defend Fixing RWBY's blatant racism but act like a character speaking someone's name when talking to them is some horrid writing sin?)

And like everyone else whining "cast bloat", Syto's just whining about "how dare the story not focus solely on the male characters I want it to, and drag them back into the story at the slightest excuse at every opportunity". Perhaps the #1 indicator of "RWDE has zero clue how stories work" is that they genuinely cannot grasp the idea of minor characters who don't play any long-term role in the story.

so, today while working, my brain started thinking about rewrites >.<
and my brain went to scene where everyone is trying to restrain the virus'ed penny.
-
Penny - "Please....kill me."
Ruby - "What??"
Penny - "Kill me....now....and I can make sure...the Power goes to you...."
Ruby - "Penny no. I-I can't do that. We'll find another way."
Penny - "Please....I....I don't want to be why we lose the Maiden Powers to Salem. Be-besides...when this is over.....Father can just rebuild me....as he always does..."
Ruby - "No....no no no. Penny. He-...no...Penny just stay with us, we'll find a way...."
Penny - "Ruby...what is wrong...."
Ruby - "Your Father...Pietro...Penny....he doesn't have much life left to give you...."
Penny - "....What....?"

found a Kamen Rider song that made me think of Ruby and Summer
It's Kamen Rider Kiva's "Rainy Rose", which is sung by TETRA-FANG (the "band" formed specifically for the show and it's lead singer is the lead actor of the show). There is also a "Queen Edit." sang by the character Maya/Pearshell Fangire/Queen, who is Kiva's mother.

Rainy Rose (the song)

Rainy Rose (Queen Edit.)

Lyrics
"In the midst of a peaceful time
concealing the radiance
as if captivated by just about everything
a person who laughs softly

well, that prayer I know didn’t reach
into the distant sky, again I’m sending it

The dark rose sadly, like the rain, cries
as if wrapped in every night
a cross which knew love, betrayal in its body
there isn’t anyone in the darkness who stays

Even the little bird who is lost in the forest has stopped
waiting for the wind which pushes down on its back
even so, with its wings it starts its journey

well, even if on whichever road pleases you
there isn’t an eye turned towards you
just a person who loves, for the sake of protecting
one person in the night’s mist is hidden

The dark rose sadly, like the rain, cries
as if pulling on its remembered string
the heart which loved, inside its loneliness
the warmth of just one white finger

that beauty in your eye, even now
you can’t see even the pieces of repentence
the echo that your spirit searches for, you just believed
that you lose everything without fear

The dark rose sadly, like the rain, cries
as if wrapped in every night
a cross which knew love, betrayal in its body
there isn’t anyone in the darkness

for sure someone…the proof of love
from some far-off place it’s like I’m holding you
even now one person stops inside your loneliness
and offers a prayer in peace

I'll remember her the Rainy Rose..."

(The lyric “I’ll remember her” was changed to “Remember me” in the Queen Edit)

I just can’t…

Filler, for me, is giving the spotlight to backgrounds characters. I don’t care. They have done jack shit to the plot. Focus on the main characters. If the execution’s terrible, your filler will suffer for it.
What this lovely individual just can't wrap their head around is that all of these relevant character moments happened in canon in the same episode that V6 got the plot rolling. V6 didn't spend two episodes drawing this stuff out because the writers needed to pad out the length of his story.

All of their examples of stuff that "happens" is either entirely inconsequential or stuff that canon didn't need two episodes to handle. We already know Ruby's happy to have her team reunited. V6 is already the volume where Qrow's alcoholism comes into focus. V6 didn't need an episode devoted to a festival for Blake to say goodbye to her family, Sun, and Ilia (and reminder, Fixing RWBY already had a scene in the prior episode that was all about Ilia being a bitch Ilia's fate). We're told about Ghira rebuilding the Faunus-rights movement with Ilia by his side. Roman and Neo pickpocketing people to get them into first class is absolutely inconsequential to the story (and frankly highlights the stark contrast between "how dare Team RWBY steal anything" and "but our pet characters are allowed to rob whoever they want"). Mercury and Emerald having a discussion about parenthood...what the heck? Cardin and Russell returning to the story adds absolutely nothing to the story (except racist abuser apologist fanservice).

It's all pointless natter. Inconsequential nonsense. Filler. (And again, the fact that Roman and Neo are the only ones doing anything whatsoever regarding progressing the plot while the actual protagonists faff about highlights how Fixing RWBY is all about making Celtic Phoenix's pet characters into the real protagonists of the story.)

Coming back to this, because I just spotted this gem from Syto:
I could hate or be indifferent to Cardin, only to come across someone retelling a story of how he could go through an arc of rare introspection and guilt over his past actions, and amend that in little scenes throughout the series. To explore an avenue left untreaded, to treat a throwaway bully as more than a plot device and actually force him to grow when the story and most of the fanbase were content to leave him stunted and forgotten. Even if the writer’s intention was as pragmatic as “I’m sticking closely to canon and I refuse to remove Cardin on principle, so I’m gonna make him work”, that was still someone who treated the importance of a character and their place within a living world far more than RWBY ever did.
A dude, whining about "cast bloat"...bitching about how a racist bullying piece of shit didn't get the limelight he totally deserved.

That so perfectly encapsulates what kind of losers and creeps the RWDE/"critic" crowd consists largely of.

ya know
when it comes to "Fixing" having heat cycles, aside from it being something that should remain in the smut/kink section, is that it runs counter in a way to the faunus subplot in it's own way.
faunus want to be seen and treated as equals. as not just mere animals as they were considered. but giving them heat cycles....that puts them closer to animals.
so in a way the rewriter is doing more damage to the subplot than CRWBY ever did, and CRWBY were rather negligent to it >.>"

Just had a thought
some "critics" claim Emerald's redemption in V8 is bad and is just her trying to save her own ass
and the thought that hit me today, thanks to the holidays, is that......Emerald's turn in that kind of sense is not to different from Ebenezer Scrooge.
Cinder/Salem - The Future That Could Be
Mercury/Hazel - The Present
Oscar/Ruby(?) - The Child of The Past
Emerald herself/Mercury - The 2 Children Under Present's Robes
Emerald - Scrooge who starts the story not seemingly caring for others and focused on one thing (Em wants Cinder's love and affection, Scrooge wants to make and keep money, and both feel safe in these thoughts)
Oscar - Tiny Tim who just seems to melt people's hearts and despite a rough situation they try to be positive and want to look out for others

I know I know, big stretch and all that, but I needed to stretch >.>

Fixing RWBY Volume 6 Episodes 3-4 TL;DR:

The episode starts with Cinder falling and going through caverns before falling into a river. As she crawls ashore, her Grimm arm sprouts teeth and bites into her flesh, and her chest would fill with black liquid and solidifies, before she blacks out from the pain.

  • The scene goes to a burning building stared at by a teenage Cinder. Tyrian looks at Cinder and questions if Cinder killed everyone inside (and if she enjoyed it) before knocking her out and carrying her away.
  • Adam slides down a mountain and gains access to the Argus Limited train.
  • Yang goes onto the gangway connection and sees a Manticore pass by, and Yang hyperventilates as the train goes into a tunnel, Yang sees the corridors stretch and warp into Beacon's cafeteria, and Yang sees Adam passing by without saying a word. Yang reaches and rips off a ladder before things come back to reality and her breathing is regulated.
  • Roman is playing cards against Ruby, Weiss, and Jaune, and Nora and Ren are playing against someone described as a grandma. When Ruby and company leave to look for Qrow, Roman offers to play the grandma, who is shown to have a tattoo of an anchor on her arm.
  • Cardin and Russell find Blake alone in Team RWBY's cabin. Cardin mentions "things have changed" since Beacon, with Russell saying that the two wanted to say hello. When Cardin asks how Blake has been, Blake says "she's been better. It's been a rough couple of weeks" and talks about the rift between her and Yang. Cardin suggests that maybe Yang doesn't want help because of how stubborn she is and it'd hurt her pride, Blake has an epiphany. Cardin mentions taking cues from Velvet, the most empathic person he knows. When Blake points out the rabbit keychain on Cadin's mace, he says "I'm a big fan of Pumpkin Pete's, so what?" while Russell says that Cardin's a big softie. Cardin says that falling down an elevator shaft with someone makes you sentimental, and says "it's a...long story."
  • Ruby and Weiss see Qrow at a bar talking to a woman and pull him away. As they're arguing, Weiss sees Adam, who locks eye contact with Weiss, Blake sees Adam as well as she and Cardin poke their heads out of the cabin.
  • Qrow shoves Weiss and Ruby back and fires at Adam, telling the girls to run. Cardin shoves Blake into the cabin and tells Russell to get her to safety. Cardin presses an intruder alarm on his scroll before joining Qrow to fight Adam.
  • A Manicore smashes through the ceiling of the car where Roman and Neo are. The Manticore throws Roman at a wall, pinned between said wall and the remains of a table.
  • Ruby realizes that the team will have to get their weapons. Blake pulls her and Weiss and sees a Grimm swarm and Weiss wonders if Adam drew all of them to the train. Adam makes his way to the roof and glares under his blindfold. Ruby leaves to get the group's weapons. Adam holds his own against Qrow, Cardin, and Russell.
  • JNR looks at the situation and orders to save the civilians, while Roman asks for him and Neo to be saved from the Manticore, whose stinger is now lodged in the table the two are hiding behind.
  • Ren rushes to the Manticore and blocks the stinger before it stabs Roman with an Aura shield made from his palms, and his fingers are able to cause the stinger to explode and the Manticore recoils. Roman says, "You bastard, I could kiss you!" while Ren just glares.
  • Ren continues to batter the Manticore with his palms, and Nora has her Aura boosted by Jaune to where she can lift the Manticore through the broken window, and it turns to powder.
  • Ruby gets her team's weapons and the group tells Yang what's going on. Yang freezes when she realizes she actually saw Adam in her breakdown.
  • Adam knocks Russell off the train and he's picked up by a Grimm, while Cardin is knocked into a gangway, and his arm is wedged between two cars. His shoulder is crushed and his Aura is spent protecting him, rolling onto the gangway proper before he passes out.
  • Qrow and Adam spar and Qrow tackles Adam before his Moonslice can go through Team RWBY, instead hitting a mountain and triggering an avalanche, and the two men fall into the fog. Qrow uses his bird form to get back to the train.
  • Cardin calls for everyone to move to the front cars for shelter from the Grimm, and Jaune tells Roman and Neo to go up to the roof to fight the Grimm since they have their weapons.
  • Team RWBY struggles with their team attacks while Ruby herself has to deal with fighting while also holding JNR's weapons. Nora comes to collect her weapon, along with Ren and Jaune, who get their weapons.
  • The avalanche hits the train, and Ruby shoves Nora onto the train where Jaune and Ren are and cuts the car connection in one swing. JNR goes through a tunnel, with Jaune calling out Ruby's name as he realizes what Ruby has done.

Celtic states that FRWBY will go on break to allow the artists to rest, relax, decompress, and enjoy the holidays, "unlike a certain company," and that the releases will resume in late January/early February.

I saved you 28 minutes. You’re welcome.

28 minutes for these two eps and the train only just crashed. This guy is just completely ignoring the physical limitations the show had, isn't he?
That's pretty typical for the rewrite crowd and RWDE in general, they have no actual comprehension of even basic stuff like "How long it takes to render a scene" so they bitch up a storm about stuff like "Why didn't we see millions of people, huh!?!?!?!?!?"

Also, Adam is totally badass and unstoppable, he can take on all the men at one he's so awesome! While the girls stumble around without their weapons and are useless. FUCKING WHAT.
Right!?!?

Like fuck me, the whole, Blake confessing random shit to Cardin of all people was already ridiculous but the whole "Get the women out of danger" nonsense was just a slap in the face, let alone Adam being portrayed as that danger.

Spoiler warning, if he were that badass, he wouldn't have knelt like a whipped cur to Cinder, you dumb fucks!
