I'll be honest, Blake explaining fuckwits semblance there always felt like a callback to the clumsy moment from V2 and Yang's semblance... Plus, having Yang verbally respond to it helped remind the viewer of the pairs differences.

‪So a friend of mine noticed something interesting… at the dinner at the Schnee manor, Winter puts water in her wine glass.‬

‪This seems to be a deliberate choice since Jacques’ glass very clearly has wine in it.

And it theoretically could be liquor or a spirit but you wouldn’t use that type of glass for those and Ironwood likely wouldn’t want one of his officers drinking that much in case of emergency.‬

‪This might not seem like an important detail… until you remember that Winter has an alcoholic mother who she would have seen drunk a lot during her childhood growing up in this very house.‬

‪You’re welcome for the angst, but mostly I just want to applaud the attention to detail that this shows to include such a minor but realistic thing.‬

so did some digging based on the names and short blurbs
Pyke;
mining, Pyrite "Fools Gold"

Arrastra;
a mill used in metalurgy, usually for grinding and pulverizing gold and silver ore, an animal or human would be what turned the mill, so given she is a faunus I want to say she is bovine due to the spots on her face

Asher;
Mora looks like it could either be "Blackberry", or about a time delay like in a stanza and has a connection to the Greek work "Chronos" ("Time"). Asher could draw from "Ash" (this along with "Blackberry" gives us his colors), but could also come from biblical text and means "Happy" (even though he looks like sour grapes)

Fenix;
Fenix and Nemean both give us a color in his design, dark red (Fenix) and gold (the color of the Nemean Lion's impervious hide. I say he is Herculeas because he his mainly a noble and loyal man, but it sounds like he has a Hulk side and Hercules got his legendary labors because was put into a rage and killed his own family.

I am liking the look of this lil crew, especially Fenix , something about a royally dressed warrior type that just jives with me.

Pyke raises some interesting questions based on the meaning of their name, I wonder if their smile hides deep sadness, or if they are not all they are cracked up to be.

Oh snap I missed that Arrastra was a Faunus the first time (So sleepy XD) I wonder if her jumping into action means anything, kangaroo maybe? Though your case is a solid one, kudos.

Neat stuff with Asher, maybe has some time dilatation power them?

Yeah that fits Fenix really well, haha, imagine your dual inspiration myths being the lion and the guy who killed you as the lion XD

popular rwby fanartist Mojojojo is wondering if Arrasta is actually a lizard faunus like Illia, feeling that the dark spots on Arrasta are like Illia's freckles/scales/spots.

well some people also point out Rooster Teeth's name, given it's origin. so of course with them removing some videos people think they should also change their names or be hypocrits.
it's all stupid really.

just had a thought (and not sure if there is a tumblr/twitter post similar to this)
Cinder's rival/foil is not Ruby (I'm sure we all agree on that), but she is also not Jaune's.
Instead....she is Penny's.
Fall leads into Winter - Cinder's actions have twice now effected the course of Penny's life. Her death during Vytal and her gaining Maiden powers last volume.
Power - Cinder fought for and stole her power, while Penny's kindness and care ended up having the torch passed to her.
Humanity - Cinder starts as a human, but is slowly losing that humanity. Penny was artificially created, but has been more "Human" then those of Team Atlas.

Ooh I vaguely recall something like this from tumblr, maybe, but whether new or old, inspired or original, I seriously love this take. It makes Cinder's constant de-humanization of Penny have even more weight cos she's smack talking her rival without realizing it and driving the rivalry wedge deeper. Plus Penny & Cinder can actually fight on equal ground which can't happen with Ruby because of silver eyes and Ruby also honestly not giving a F**** about Cinder except as a threat to be removed from her sight.

Though that does beg the question of JNR's involvement.

JNR (namely Jaune) already had Haven, so I think it's out of their system. Sure they will hate Cinder, but I don't think she'll be goading them into fighting her again.
If anything JNR will be more focused on fighting extras, like Grimm, Hazel, Emerald, Mercury, Neo, and protecting others.

That's a fair take, though in this context I was more thinking of a theory I saw that Cinder will be steaming mad when she finds out her heroic rivals are JNR as they have more narrative bindings against her than most other characters. I thought the rationale's worked well and makes sense, but dang that Penny stuff is so perfect too XD

Ruby knows loss. Her mother, her fathers grief, Yang being forced to grow up early, and that was all before the show even started... But she will never stop trying to help people. Some call it childish, or naive. I call it mature.
