RWBY & RT General Discussion Thread (V1)

I definitely think there's some funky stuff going on world fusion wise which will likely prove interesting, especially as Yang has her prosthetic and Blake and Weiss were back home.

As for Pyrrha, well there's seven DC heroes, seven RWBY heroes, but JNPR should make 8, so I am thinking the eights DC person is either a surprise to help us later and comes in with Pyrrha, or Pyrrha's been captured by the villain.

Also it seems like some funky stuff may be going on in that forest, lookie:

Weiss is also in her Beacon era costume but has access to summons... I actually wonder if this is happening 'between worlds' in the V8-9 or 9-10 divide and not on the 'real' Remnant, or if it's an 'universes touching' scenario as happens in the DC multiverse on occasion.

Also, Dianas outfit needs to be added to her usual rotation in comics. I love it so much.

Mhm, honestly wandering if it might be a simulation, or the Grimm themselves might be like, approximations of Grimm created by some outside force.

That's possible, though I think the latter is more likely, with realities perhaps overlapping or some outside force influencing things, causing the timeline to get winky, we also know Pyrrha was cast so (OO)

Yeees, I freaking love her design, though Vixen's is definitely my favourite.

what if this Part 1 movie ends with an after credits stinger where we see Pyrrha (either the real one or a fake) with the true villain of the crossover.

on another topic

Would Ruby count as "The Heart" on top of "The Leader"?

Is there anything that's better than Weiss suffering from having horny friends?

Aside from Yang potentially meeting Blake's parents in the DC movie at least.

what if the "origin" of Zwei is that....he just showed up one day?
Like doesn't matter where in the time line, he just....showed up at the Patch House and stayed like "This is nice place. I stay." And Tai and the rest just roll with it as "We have doggo now."

Or they just got a dog the normal way. A dog doesn't need a origin story.

I always thought he was an aura experiment that was then given to Tai. It would explain the crazy shit he did in volume 2.

That's how my friends got their cat.

Fitting for how long this volume has been planned and the character examination it seems set to delve into there are apparently a lot of things brought up in volume 1 and 2 that will be relevant this volume.

Speaking of rewatching volume 1. Did no one listen to Pyrrha explaining Aura?

Everyone has Aura, even animals.

There's nothing weird about Zwei having superpowers. He's just a normal dog with normal Aura powers, like every living creature on Remnant.

The place has turtles the size of small islands that swim through sand for crying out loud. A Roc is just another type of animal, no more mystical than name-dropping owls in real life.

Honestly, it's mostly just that Monty had an idea and put the Rocket Corgi in at the last second, meaning that there is a slight disconnect between the writing and what's on screen.
No. I'm tired of this. Stop acting like the rocket corgi is that unusual a sight on Remnant. The very same volume Zwei appeared in opens up with Nora sticking a melon on a pipe and using it as a hammer to launch Yang into space, while Ren uses freaking leeks as throwing knives that pierce solid stone.

How is that 👆 less weird than a rocket corgi?

Also anyone who is slightly familiar with Monty knows that he loved Final Fantasy VIII and drew a lot of inspiration from it. It's not hard to guess where the Rocket Corgi came from:

So what is the mysterious origin for Angelo being able to turn itself into a cannon ball and survive?

Rinoa taught it a trick from a Pet Pal Magazine.

The origins of Zwei needs not be any more mysterious or strange than that.

So Ruby took Zwei on enough walkies to let him use the power of the moon to make himself invincible?

Sounds logic!

I'm saying there was a disconnect between animator and writer over what Zwei was going to do in that bit, which yes, does mean that Zwei MAY, and I say again, MAY, be unusual by Remnant standards. And frankly, I do kinda like the idea of Zwei just being kind of weird, mostly for people that don't know about him to A) be caught off guard by him, and B) Assume that Blake is just being silly about the cute looking puppy. My personal opinion is that animals can definitely be aura enhanced and trained to fight alongside humans, and have surprising abilities, but I'm not sure if the show will go to the level of rocket corgi again.

And honestly, using the food fight as an example feels slightly flawed to me, because I always assumed it was exaggerated for comedy's sake. Like having an entire unfilleted swordfish for Weiss to use as a rapier.

Zwei is eternal. Zwei is always. Zwei is all the things people said Zuul was in that movie, but better so at those things. Zwei looked upon a household of humans and decided they were destined for greatness and also the smaller one probably wouldn't eat all of his dog food. So Zwei decided that they would be His owners.

(Zwei would make a good magical-girl mascot, if they were magical girls instead of Huntresses.)

Also, come to think of it, we all know what Zwei's real "Invincible Moon" is...~

Sigh. 😔

Anyway, for those who have considered getting RWBY: Arrowfell now is a good time, as Wayforward is now selling physical copies via a partnership with Limited Edition Games.

As recent events have shown its not a bad idea to own a physical copy of a game/movie/tv show if you really want to be sure that it won't be taken from you.

If Collectors Editions are your thing or you like the look of those playing cards and/or t-shirts then that's another good reason to buy now rather than later (specifically later than March 12 2023 while LRG stop taking more orders for the game)

Or maybe you're feeling charitable and want to see if you can rope more people into the fandom then a physical copy makes a fine gift or library donation.
