Huh, I like it, good insights!

this is a legit response I got when I shared the same thing on another thread

"Ah yes, the Cat-Girl with Night Vision has similarities to the real Cat with Myths of having X-Ray Vision!
Who could have made the conncection? /s"

TWICE now. -.-
the first time was a while back and I don't even remember what it was.

As someone that's gotten art commissioned for that fic (WITH MY OWN MONEY! :p ) he can be a prickly bigger. I disagreed with one scene in a chapter, and hoooo boy, did that rile him up. Still far from the worst fic writer I've interacted with, mind you.

Boldores and Boomsticks, a fic we both read. The author can get a bit too defensive. To be fair, that thread has had more than it's share of Exhausting Dumbfucks, but it can still get tiring when he bites someones hand off for nothing, as Pug experienced after replying to a stupid question someone posted, and got told off for 'presenting himself as having authority over the story'

I mean, narratively speaking RWBY do NOT have any need or reason to go through the entire Alolan Island Trial and collect all 18 Z Crystals when their collective movepool between Huntsmen and Pokemon doesn't even really breach 10 types for primaries (I think).
Just collect 2 per girl that gels with their main types.
Like, Ruby got the Flyinium Z and Yang has the Fire and Dragon ones at least, and those are what I can remember off the top of my head.

I have not watched Pokemon since I was like 9 so this is like a foreign language to me XD

Pokemon has been pretty wild for the last few generations, having a special gimmick introduced.
Gen 6 - Kalos - Pokemon France - "Mega Stones" that basically let a single pokemon kind of digivolve for the duration of a battle (or until fainted/recalled) and only certain pokemon got these forms, and some even got 2 forms.

Gen 7 - Alola - Pokemon Hawaii - "Z-Moves" preformed by having a special crystal (most based on the 18 types). You have a crystal, the trainer does a "dance" based on said crystal, and the pokemon does big finisher move. Move can only be performed once per battle.

Gen 8 - Galar - Pokemon UK/England - "Dynamax" in certain areas (i.e. the gyms) and for 3 turns your pokemon becomes Kaiju sized and gets supersized moves. Like the Mega Stones from before certain pokemon become "Gigantimax" instead and take on a special form for the 3 turns.

Gen 9 - Pokemon Spain, the region name and gimmick has yet to be revealed. Due out this November.

Back to RWBY, I have a question.
If you had Pyrrha live through the Fall of Beacon, how would you even handle Jaun's character arc if you wanted him to hit similar beats to what he had in canon? i.e. Beacon's Dork Knight to the Attack Focused Claymore Jaune of Mistral to the calmer Support Leader in Atlas.[/spoiler]

I don't think you can. not without making Jaune look like a total ass and dragging out a much less dramatic conflict for a similar length of time.

Glad we can agree on that.
But here is the next question, if we keep Pyrrha alive, is it still possible to reach Support Leader Jaune? And what would be a way to do it?
I mean, Jaune unlocking AMP came in part of Weiss getting shanked because of his screw ups and this was on top of his feelings about losing Pyrrha. So if Pyrrha is alive and Weiss still gets shafted somehow, would we get the same result?

Glad we can agree on that.
I'd say probably but the learning curve would be a lot gentler, I am unsure Weiss would even get into that scenario, and Jaune may well not discover his Semblance or its utility nearly so quickly.
