Also, I found it ironic that they call out the Hatedom for supposedly calling in death threats with no verified sources, but you can easily see them pulling this shit on someone when they don't have any good rebuttals.

It never stops being amusing how people are like "these new RWBY reactors are picking up on things the HTDM ignores!" because the one time that they do pick up on what the HTDM picks up on, that's when the knives come out.

It sends a message of "we'll only reward you if you react the way we want you to react!"

Again, And?
Like, why reward someone you don't agree with any of your time?
They are just saying the what and why and letting others know why.

Six months of "Ironwood's running a police state and he's got the vibes of someone about to crack" could certainly have shifted the perspective on him a bit, compared to the way things actually went, where our last impression of him was V4, where he seemed to be the only sensible man in the room.
And then V7's 'premiere' reveals he's got a plan to unify the world and Ruby decides to lie to him despite spending the entire previous volume reeling over being lied to.

How about you attack the argument and not the person?

Because it doesn't change the fact that the premiere would basically be unchanged and that their "arrest" is basically "hey, what's up? we're gonna fix the CCT and bring people together because Ozpin's old method of keeping things hidden is what got us in this mess in the first place."

If the only thing people have to go off is "Ironwood looks tIrEd" with the speculation of his arc, that isn't exactly a lot of fire.

OK, fine. I shall tear apart the argument like I and other have repeatedly done for years now.

1 - Ironwood's plan does not take away from the fact that the man is tired and stressed

2 - The arrest unnecessary and Ironwood even regrets that it happened.

3 - The post is about the episode "The Greatest Kingdom" and how having that as the last episode before the haitus could of left us stewing in how Ironwood has things in a "big brother is watching" situation in Mantle. It is not about the episode "A New Approach".

4 - For as much as you and other RWDE cry "Ironwood is doing things different from Oz because it wasn't working" he was still making similar mistakes to Ozpin, the same kind of mistakes people try to bash Ruby and her team for. What was? Oh yeah, lying to people and not filling them in on stuff.

Anything else?

And I will tear the argument like I and others have for years.

1 - And being tired and stressed doesn't necessitate Ruby's own actions. In fact, it worsened them.

2 - "Unnecessary" being "stealing an airship and then avoiding all protocol".

3 - And my post was about how that hiatus would have just meant jack and shit given that literally the next few minutes would have had Winter and Ironwood casually brush all that aside and go "we cool now" with nary a mention of the Big Brother vibes going on. (Yeah, ever notice how after that first episode, the whole Big Brother display just kinda... vanished?) In fact, given how it would allegedly end, people would be talking more about Penny or hell, even Adam.

4 - Major difference with is that Ironwood has been upfront when necessary rather than with Ozpin who would rather force Oscar to be possessed than let any of his allies know about Jinn after his neglect to tell people about the Relic's (mostly ineffective except for this one special moment) Grimmlure got a Huntsman killed and nearly killed several other people, or with Yang and Blake who just leaked the plans to a complete unknown who is more prone to overreaction than Ironwood was.

1 - The actions of Ruby and her allies only "made things worse" when the villains managed to play Ironwood like a fiddle just like at Beacon.

2 - As Ruby told Cordorvin they were left with no choice.

3 - The Big Brother stuff was still there, we were just viewing things most of the time from the Big Brother side for about half the volume. As for Adam, the most Adam talk would be either people being thankful he is dead or it would be from Adam stans like EruptionFang still throwing hissy fits. In all honesty the amount of Adam talk would actually be unchanged because he is still dead and people are either going to cheer about it or bitch about it. As for Penny, that would be about the only thing that would honestly distract from Ironwood discourse because "OMG THE BELOVED CHARACTER IS BACK! YAY!" and people would spend the hiatus writing Nuts N Dolts or Frozen Steel fics.

4 - Ironwood was the same in secret keeping as Ozpin was, only giving info to those he thought he could trust and were in his circle. Oz only forcefully control Oscar twice, once during the Haven fight to make sure the kid didn't get squished by Hazel, and then when he was desperately trying to keep his personal secret and shame close to his chest and was made to relive the tragedy of his life and choices. It is not Ozpin's fault that Dee died. For Robyn our heroes saw what Robyn was about and Yang and Blake chose to take that risk, because as characters flat out state later in V8 "Trust is a Risk". Ironwood didn't want to take those risks and instead had surrounded himself for months with YesMen. Not a single person in his circle really questioned him. Not a single one was brave enough to look him in the eye and say "Sir, with all due respect, what the fuck?". Robyn never escalated a situation until lesss pessured to do so.

Shall we keep doing this dance, Psy?

Does anyone else want to join in?

I really like this post and I do think it could have helped, but I also think that by this point in time there was a rather large and dedicated group of people intent on ignoring every point the story had going to insist that the "Real main character" was "Insert dude here". IE, Jaune, Adam, Qrow, OZ, Adam again, then Ironwood. These people have no actual interest in understanding or paying attention to stuff like foreshadowing, they just make shit up and fill it in. Like how they keep insisting Yang punched Oscar in V6, when it was Qrow. They just hate women and as a result hate RWBY.
