RWBY & RT General Discussion Thread (V1)

Unofficial Kerry guesstimate places Jaune as having aged up 10 to 20 years from his time in the Ever After. Though with how wonky that place is that doesn't necessarily mean that Alyx and Lewis fell in less than 10-20 years ago.

Ruby's actions are described as the start of her breakdown. Fun times ahead.

Also can I just say that I love how efficient Jaune's groundhog loop situation was for establishing his decaying mental state, explaining what he had been up to for those 10-20 years in a way that didn't leave the possibility of plot holes or asspulls in terms of how much he could have gotten done, moving the plot forward via introducing Neo and serving as the catalyst for a mental breakdown of both Ruby and Jaune, the two leaders who have always been two sides of the same coin.

When you compare it with garbage like "fixing" RWBY that needed how many episodes just to reach the Apathy and then didn't even introduce them properly without leaning on meta knowledge it's like night and day.

I still, to this day, do not buy the "More than 2 Gods" theories.
Like, we are clearly given 2 gods who share the exact same abilities. the fairy tale book has a tale of the 2 once being 1. this sets the brothers as Ying&Yang. Neither fully "good" nor "bad", just 2 halves of the same whole.
Yes we have 4 Kingdoms, 4 Relics, 4 Maidens, 4-person teams, etc. but I think people are to hyperfocused on that number, plus a desire to have SOMETHING our heroes could call on to level the playing field so the Brother Gods can be punished (especially physically) for their role in this mess.
However I say 2 is just as, if not more than, important in the narrative structure of RWBY.
2 Gods, 2 Immortals waging a shadow war, the Great War being a 2 V 2, 2 races, 2 sets of partners making up the teams, how characters tend to be foiled/paired with and against each other, and now with V9...2 siblings lost in another realm and 1 sibling is noted as selfish and cruel while the other is seen as the good one.

One could argue there's hints of a third god thanks to the one seen in the fairy tales segment, but that would only make 3.

True, but that one remains solely in unconfirmed myths, I'd argue. Even if those fairy tales DO have a habit of coming true...

Jaune also never sold his marriage to the devil because some jack-off didn’t like the idea of being married.
Joe Quesada, good contender for worst person to happen to the comic industry, right up there with Didio, Johns and Liefield. I'd still say the last one was worst. The others did some good before they got too big to be reigned in. Liefield was always a hack, and he has literally destroyed companies with his incompetence.

I don't fully know what has been happening in the most recent episodes
Last I knew our young protagonists and Luz's Mother had made it back to the Boiling Isles with the intent to stop the Collector and I think Hunter had a final encounter with Belos.
so seeing this image of Eda and King in clear FIGHT mode and Luz's face.......her face just screams to me something along the lines of "Sorry, Amity, but I'm about to make a sacrifice play to save everyone." :'(

They followed Belos back to the Isles, were briefly caught up in some nonsense at the school and Kikomora being a pest as usual, they resolved some of their various traumas, and arrived at the titans skull where the Collector has set up shop. Belos has possessed Raine, who, like most of the isles adult population, has been turned into a puppet, and is now trying to trick the Collector into taking out the heroes for him.

*sighs*
it disheartens me everytime I see people go "was I meant to feel something" when Ruby gave away the emblem.
-.- like, did they not watch the trailer that started the entire series?
