Theodore looks a lot less buff than I'd imagined him. Not that he's not buff, but I imagined him to be more of an Absolute Unit. Maybe not on the level of Hazel but maybe somewhere between Hazel and Professor Ozpin.

Gosh I love the Vacuo designs so much. I'm really happy Beyond and the concept art gave us a chance to actually see the place. I didn't quite FEEL it when reading the books you know? Those were pretty sparse in descriptions and basic in prose anyway, so Vacuo felt sparse and basic too.
But this:
Is just gorgeous. And while they're impractical I love the hard light doors:
The casual inclusion of advanced technology that seamlessly blends in with more old school aesthetics reminds me of Lionhearts office serves as a great contrast to Atlas hyping itself up as the sole contributor to scientific advancements by building all of their stuff with the same overused Ipod aesthetic.
Mistral, Vacuo and to some degree Vale are great reminders that technology doesn't just have to look one way.
But this:

I was not expecting Somewhat's episode to outright confirm that someone they recognize will return to the Ever After seemingly by using the Staff of Creation (I think. Pretty sure Blacksmith portals look differen).
Between this and the confirmation that Alyx and Lewis where from pre-war Vacuo along with a suspiciously similar looking new character and possible Summer Maiden showing up, all those people who called Volume 9 a "filler" volume should go suck on an egg.
We tried telling them that to not prematurely judge what is and is not important when they don't have the full story but they wouldn't listen. And now they look like fools.

They already looked like fools the first time they started saying "filler", CRWBY is just pelting them with more eggs.
As for that Portal.....my guess is Ruby and this is a hint/tease to the finale.

Man the Boba episode was perfect. Really got to bring up some of the emotional beats that it felt like V9 was forced to skim over due to the budget cuts.

That or the people who worked on RWBY realized the criticisms that Volume 9 felt like a non-canon story and made Beyond as a sort of Author's Saving Throw

Honestly, this reminds me that I wouldn't mind seeing more Beyond style videos post-rescue elsewhere. The little character moments that help expand things between characters, but don't REQUIRE full animation.

I'm sad that the shutdown scuttled most of the Beyond videos but if the new ownership thing really does go through then I hope they keep the concept for volume 10 and future seasons. Maybe add the Beyonds as little shorts at the end of each episode.
