Spammer epidemics

Seems like we have a spammer epidemics. Would it be possible to move to a model where new members' first few posts have to be approved, or some other solution?

It is getting rather out of hand. I mean, I can probably take on the 'is this a spambot' duty if I have to, but there's like... A bajillion of these threads overnight

We do have an option to moderate posts, so we could probably manage something to that effect.

Not sure how implementation would look, though.

We really need to institute a initial post approval thing, cause a bot dumped ten spam threads into Members Only.

Yeah, I'm not sure how the mechanics of that would work, but it'd sure help filter out these danged bots.

Feels like the only thing I do on here these days is check for bots and prune spam threads.
