OK this is just an idle thing but t comes back to my head every now and again.

Salem sends Tyrian to the White Fang & hazel to kidnap Ruby.

Now Hazel is, I think, overall more dangerous than Tyrian given what we saw in the V5 finale, though it could just be that his specific skill set is better suited for who most of his opponents were. Regardless, I see him as having a decent chance of kidnapping Ruby...

But that's not the same as actually getting her to Salem. Both because Qrow could pursue at high speeds, and Ruby can turn into rose petals, plus if Yang makes it to Raven and Qrow is following them boom, extra strength ambush.

As to the White Fang, Hazel is pretty passive, but Tyrian is anything but and he takes his queen/goddesses commandments very seriously so Adam going against the plan not liable to go down well with him, but even more than that, Tyrian is much smarter than most people give him credit for, as we saw in V7.

Tyrian: Now, now let us wait a moment, I have a question for the Khan woman. Where is the main body of your forces?
Adam: This has nothing to do with you.
Sienna: Spread across Anima, Vytal and Mantle doing damage control for the mess Taurus caused.
Tyrian: So you're operating on a skeleton crew then, mostly Vale's forces, hmmm?
Adam: Be quiet.
Sienna:That's accurate.
Tyrian: And yet this was all you could get, that's saaad.
Adam: I am helping you, fool!
Tyrian: Tsk, tsk, you're seeking to put your ambitions ahead of her majesties and even worse, I can't say you're doing it well enough that she's... Tolerate that.
Sienna: Is that it Adam, not even a challenge, but a coup?
Adam:... Raah (Attacks)

Suffice to say Adam and his collaborators get the beat down of a lifetime and Sienna, being a Faunus of honor, promises to repay the debt she owes Tyrian and will speak with Salem.

Of course that doesn't mean she intends to see Salem's plan through in anyway shape or form.

Another idea that I've been playing with is a post-game Xenonauts 'setting', which would be interesting...
Sorry for the late reply. Sounds interesting, though I'd need to know more about the setting to offer much sorry XD

Well, it is essentially after Xenonauts 1 and the basic idea is that Chief Scientist Condescending is wrong on certain things because he didn't have the complete picture. Some of what he assumed was true ended up being false, like the base components for Praetorian alloys and alenium are located on Mars and the outer planets of the solar system. NATO and the Warsaw Pact get a hold of various technologies of the Praetorians, terrorism is at an all time high, Reagan's 'Revolution' never happens because he (and a good chunk of the GOP leadership pushing for it) dies in a Praetorian bombing raid, mankind starts colonizing the moon and Mars... all sorts of 'fun' stuff.

The Xenonauts would become the Global Defense Force and eventually pulls a GDI after defeating the Praetorian equivelent of CBs and basically cutting the world off of the various components for alenium power plants and praetorian materials... and annihilating a zombie plague attempt or two...

I've done some work on TO&Es for Xenonauts becoming a genuine military force and not basically airborne infantry with drone tank support.

Sorry I should probably clarify I literally know nothing about Xenonauts and so I have very little understanding of what you just said, sorry XD

Well, it's an X-COM (the original, not the remake) clone that has a thing for turning the tropes of the original X-COM on their head and is set during the Cold War (specifically starting in the fall of 1979)...

Ah I see, no idea how that'd work, but I'm glad you have so many ideas.

Empires Hero

In the tremulous war with the Clan Lands, the very heartland of the Atlesian Empire had been laid bare. With despair filling the people's hearts, the Grimm had been swift to act, targeting mines and transports at first, but soon growing bolder and larger in number. Before long whole outposts were overwhelmed and reinforcements could not come swiftly enough.

Not with the death of General Ironwood to the Faunus's Chief, Sienna Khan.

Thus, even as the war was ended in all but name, the soldiers had no leader, no plan of action, lines of communication were falling and it seemed all hope was lost.

Until she arrived.

Bursting as if from a dream or the collective hopes of every citizen she came, Argus's thorns, the Black Knight of Mantle, the Silver Eyed Champion of Atlas.

The Ruby Rose.

Though born from humble beginnings she was a natural warrior, her training taking her across the lands and oftentimes away from the life of a soldier, she was a rogue who followed no money or fame, but the Grimm, a Hunter before all else, a warrior to put all others to shame, and an woman all desired or wished to emulate.

When Atlas's darkest hour came, she appeared behind the Grim's lines cutting a bloody swath of crimson tinged destruction, silver eyes cutting through the darkness as her self made Argus born militia backed her up.

Breaking the enemy's morale she called to the soldiers of Atlas and Mantle to rise up and inspired by her peerless courage they answered her call, racing to flood the cracks in the Grimm's ranks as a flood might a wash over town.

The tides began to turn, her number of followers grew as hope burst to life like a flame, exhausted soldiers found new strength, decaying Barrack's held fast knowing she would find them in time. With such a beacon, it was no surprise the soldiers came marching home, subordinating themselves to her in short order as she led the final push, breaking the Grimms ranks and shattering their horde into nothing.

When the battlefield grew quiet, and the faded into the ether, one stood above all others, Ruby Rose her crimson cape fluttering in the wind, her scythe raised high let loose a cheer that echoed across the icy planes and reached even the august halls of Atlas's highest nobles.

It was then no wonder that she was dubbed the hero of the empire, her rallied forces holding her high on their shoulders as images of their victory were projected across the empire, assuring all that the empire would not break or fracture.

It was then, even less of a surprise when she was swept into the office of Atlas's High Command.

It was no surprise at all when Weiss found herself betrothed to her.

A writing exercise I did inspired by this image.

Well, at least I'm not calling for Endless Space to cross over to RWBY... that setting is just WTF Crazy in general with elements of GRIMDARK sprinkled here and there.

Like the Carvers. If you think they're 'nid bad now, oh boy you haven't seen their original format which fought in an Endless battlefield (where the end-game techs are just the tip of the iceberg and a mere fraction of what the Endless can do)...

A pretty good summary of the volume 6 finale, but it made me wonder what kind of shenanigans Ruby could get up to if Jinn had an even more relaxed attitude than her already pretty chill canon attitude.

Hahaha, love it XD

Jinn: I have decided I like you Ruby Rose, so don't ask me anymore questions, just discuss stuff around me and I'll start saying hot or cold based on how close to correct you are.
Ruby: Thanks!

So given some of the talk about Ironwood's strategic acumen or lack there-of, I am kinda curious what we think would have gone down had he launched his attack on the WF in V2 without consulting Oz & co.

Like Cinder sees the ships leaving, calls Roman who notes he'd have seen that coming so by the time Atlas arrives they're as geared up as they're gonna be and launching, while leaving behind a little surprise for the army.

Now the ground is blowing up beneath them and at an increasingly fast rate and those battleships don't seem to be super fast if not slow either, but even their fastest ships likely won't get there even as close to as early as they did in canon.

So cute a big ass explosion in the middle of Vale, followed by likely smaller but not insubstantial horde of Grimm swarming into the unsuspecting streets followed by I think it was six or eight Paladins, and maybe a hundred armed soldiers, plus some Hunter tier fighters and there's no one present to stem the tide.

Naturally the damage is gonna be way worse, RWBY, JNPR and others will try to arrive, but by the time they get there, the central plaza will likely be a bloody messy and Grimm will have started surging through the streets and into buildings. Meanwhile the rogue WF agents will have used Paladin missiles to damage infrastructure and on crowds, as well as to blast any groups trying to marshal a defense.

Given they were sent off early however, I can see Roman and co wanting to book it as even if this was a suicide mission none of them were told that and they were likely expecting to be doing this during the Fall of Beacon. So chances are good that after the initial damage is done, everyone barring maybe the Paladins bails or is bailing by the time the students arrive.

Something like this would also cause a surge of Grimm to start charging the walls and while Glynda could seal the hole if another student doesn't beat her to it, the situation would basically be as bad as post Mercury attack or close to it I feel, at least at first. Atlas's armada is out there and could try to stem the tide, but this would cost them too and stall any reinforcements they might be proving so goodbye air support.

Overall I imagine it will still be contained but not before doing a heavy amount of harm and killing a lot of people. Sienna is probably ready to slit Adam's throat herself. The Vale council is fifty, fifty to me, cos on one hand Ironwood was reporting to them for weeks and they handed over the keys to the kingdom very easily, but by the same token Ironwood fucked up, was not seen being publicly useful while his tech rampaged, while Beacon's students & faculty did well. Also unsure if the Festival even continues at this point.

Thoughts, other takes, ETC?

This story comes highly recommended from a trusted source.

Flickering Candles: A RWBY Fanfiction

So, ages back I toyed with a Warcraft/RWBY crossover that would involve the Draenei crashing on Kuo Kuana; I have since had some thoughts on how I'd execute it.

1: The story opens about a week after the Breach and five weeks before the Vytal Festival.

2: It opens with a focus on RWBY, reading about a meteor impact into 'Menagerie'; Blake is obviously incredibly stressed and upset and the team promise to go and offer aid to the nation, requesting an airship from Ozpin.

Ozpin finds their desires respectable and agrees, sending along Oobleck as their escort but intervening to keep JNPR there (For Maiden reasons) who instead spend their time trying to do an aid drive that we don't really see.

Some surprise additions to the team however are Cinder's team, CNMN (Cinnamon), as one of Salem's seers in the area sensed magic or alien entities and she wants people on the ground so she ordered Leo to 'order' Cinder's team along for the ride.

3: We do see how Kuo Kuana dealt with the initial chaos, this is covered in interlude chapters however.

Kali & Ghira waking up to the 'meteor' all hands on decking the situation, finding the first Draenei, and the first elves, as well as mutating animals and Grimm incursions.

This is followed by increasingly desperate circumstances on the second day with certain enemy forces rallying, but is capped off with Sienna's White Fang arriving and driving back the invasion.

4: RWBY and co arrive 'after' (Or during) the first wave of chaos has already happened, but there's still plenty left to do like dealing with the Blood Elves and whatever is happening on the other side of their magic portal, IE, they can and do go to Outland.

Some additional notes:

If Adam does show up it'd be under the pretense of doing his duty and things would be tense because of Vale, but he'd likely end up corrupted by a demon in fairly short order.

Sienna & Oobleck have a mutual understanding that she will be having him watched constantly to avoid him informing Ozpin and more importantly Ironwood, of 'real magic' and also space tech, because she does not want her homeland invaded by humans thank you very much.

Penny (& others) might try and sneak on but we may be approaching cast bloat.

EDIT:

RWBY definitely arrive during the first big battle, and meet Sienna and the Draenei afterwards.

Some WF take issue with Weiss but Ghira intervenes alongside Blake & co, with Sienna coming in to bat clean up and remind the WF they have a job to do.

"I would have thought she would be more welcoming to people who came to aid your land." - "She is, but Sienna also has to balance some very extremely personalities in the White Fang, its a difficult line to walk."

Yrel also arrives after she leaves and is assigned to work with RWBY and she also likely served as the Draenei perspective, especially during the Interludes where that is feasible.

So, I have been working on a fan art of fanart project, inspired by the rwbyxsonic team and their crossover/fusion comic series and decided to do a Yang model!

It also got me wondering how I would handle such a fusion and so here we are!

'Remnant' is a separate land in Sonic's world, with its own history and lore; more a collection of supremely large islands that look conveniently 'broken' than a singular continent.

There's several nations, or more, small city states and towns scattered about competing for influence, Vale, Patch, Vacuo, Mantle, Atlas, Mistral, Kuo Kuana, Argus, etcetera, etcetera.

In this land there's four artifacts of incredible power, the Relics of the Seasons; magical items that help govern the seasons, can act as power sources, and once split the continent.

Robotnic wants the Relics power for himself, but each one is either guarded or hidden and alone they are of only nominal use to him, & they're also semi mythical to much of the public.

Atlas has the Relic of Winter and agree to work with him under somewhat false pretenses, giving him access to their Relic and they his technical acumen. Weiss is suspicious of this Robotnic figure and in her investigations and ultamitely ends up pursuing a lead outside Atlesian territory. Ironwood also is enamored with the Badnik's feeling that their robotic minds might make him a more ideal general, a delusion Robotnik happily feeds into.

Kuo Kuana, a nation driven into hiding after a war with the expansionist Atlas and had to retreat into hiding to protect themselves & their Relic of Summer. Sienna Khan leads a new generation of defenders and is making moves to prepare for Atlas, but Adam wanted to use the Relic as a weapon which she was staunchly against. Adam convinced Blake to his side and she helped him steal it, before realizing "Oh shit. he's awful and evil" escaping him.
