I like to hear news out of Rojava. I figure it would be best to create a thread on that subject to entice people to post news about it.

This podcast touches on Rojava, and specifically how the Rojavan model could take root in the US should a civil war actually occur.

At least one of those US soldiers is wearing a YPJ patch. On that patch is a red star. US troops are wearing Socialist symbols on their uniform, sufficiently often enough that the DOD is telling them they can't. This means US troops are voluntarily signalling their solidarity with comrades. Part of the benefit of US troops in Rojava is it dispels a lot of the worst myths about Socialists, they get to see what Republicans (and Democrats) demonize as evil; our troops get to see Socialism close up and are helping the YPG form more effective revolutionary militias. These troops with experience in training revolutionary militias with sympathies to revolutionary Socialism are going to be coming home at some point.Strigix said:?
For someone not familiar with the military, what precisely is the 'this' that you're talking about?

The DOD actually had to issue a directive telling them to not do this it was becoming so prevalent.
