[X] 7.62 NATO

Unfortunately for shooters of Nuggets like myself, the reserves of 7.62 Russian in all its forms is slowly drying up. It's been in the process of phasing out for decades now, and won't be in stable enough supply to warrant adoption. Besides, case dimensions for 7.62 NATO are either close enough to, or bigger than any 7.62 Russian cartridge in the family.

Like I said, the *reserves* are drying up. Countries that still use it will be reluctant to send it to someone they can't totally rely on, especially China. Plus there's the monetary angle to consider. Better to source ammo from someone who's freely giving it, especially since we now have an "in," in the form of the LT. Besides, it x39. Kind of a shrimpy round compared to NATO's x51.

I personally have never fired a x51, but I imagine the punch isn't too dissimilar to 54R, depending on powder and charge, and 39 isn't nearly as powerful as 54R is, in my own experience, on multiple fronts. Surplus, commercial, and hand-loads all have been tested by my hand for both calibers.

[X] Maybe use it for a later purchase. Coming out of the gate like that sends a bad message.

We don't really need a half million to blow on this project, to be honest, but this seems pretty reasonable for using on a later requisition.

The question is, will it be available on a later project? This is a situational deal: Wyta is cash rich and asset poor right now, and that won't be the case long-term since she's going to be rolling in money and has the fiscal habits of any good palace economy tyrant: spread the dough around in investments, and get physical assets out of it later. Wyta wants legitimacy in the eyes of the Americans because being The Government makes things easier, but she doesn't need it if she's got enough cash to blow and a way to get the liquidity bubble that would create to drain.
