RWBY & RT General Discussion Thread (V1)

One of their other posts was equally absurd, referencing character arc angles from fucking volumes 2 and 3 like the cast and story haven't developed beyond those points. Like they still think Blake & Yang need to talk about Blake leaving leaving and Yang's "Aimless wandering". Also insisting Ruby didn't reflect on Penny like she didn't deliver the girls damn eulogy.

EngineGear left out the best part, which is that even after coming up with an edgy-bullshit drawback to the Silver Eyes, which was blatantly ripped off from a plot point in Volume 9...Ruby never uses the Silver Eyes at all.

Nope, the military just comes back and saves the day so that the female protagonists don't even get to be the heroes at the very end of the story.

Talentless manbaby hack.

Oh, and the Grimm mermaids have the terrifying power of shooting water.

Who needs the Leviathan when you can have Grimm Super Soakers?

Oh, and the Grimm mermaids have the terrifying power of shooting water.

Who needs the Leviathan when you can have Grimm Super Soakers?

And here I thought they'd go for the easy take and have them act like mythological Sirens and lure people into the water.

And "Super Soaker" you mean it isn't even piercing or slashing with water? Just....lobbing water balloons?

Fixing RWBY Vol 6 Finale was PEAK

[RWBY vs Adam](https://preview.redd.it/yzx46pkuo25b1.png?width=2048&format=png&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=77a65590487edc66b7d282ebc1387aa80f5469ca)

Do I even need to say why? If you all watched what I just watched you know EXACTLY why I love this. Adam is/was my favorite character and he had potential to be much more of a character but the writers had no idea what to do with him so they killed him off in a half assed fight that was purely done to get him out of the story and push a ship that wouldn't sail for another 5 or so years after vol 6's conclusion.

Adam felt threatening, unhinged and more like a force of nature than he has ever felt and that should've been the vibe he should've been giving off the entire time. The fight wasn't easy for Team RWBY either, by the end of it all they are all gassed, Yang is missing her arm again because it got blown off by the force of her semblance hitting Adam.

And the fact that his final words were

"Fuck you Schnee"

Makes more sense than just

"Oh"

Because there is no weight with that, its a pathetic set of last words because that's how the writers saw him. Weiss making the attempt to at least say sorry for what her family did was great but I like Adam's response because he doesn't regret anything nor does he want her sympathy or empathy. All he has for Weiss and especially Blake is absolute hatred and it was a hatred that they all could see was never going to die. The man straight up too a full power semblance gut punch from Yang and still had the fighting spirit to try and stand back up even as he was coughing up pints of his own blood at that point and the look on Yang's face when she sees this says a lot especially when she almost pleads with him.

"Just stay down man"

and you can tell as Adam was coughing up blood his retort likely would've been

"Never" or "Not unless you kill me"

Because the truth of the matter is that sometimes, despite being the hero? Sometimes, they have to put the unsavable ones down and this was the case for Adam. No one celebrates, no one cheers, no one forehead touches, no one shares a tender moment. Blake takes his weapon, gives him one last disappointed and heartbroken look and then leaves.

Yang during the entire encounter was great, her PTSD still effecting her but she fights through it and by the end her cocky attitude feels earned unlike the original.

All of this is to say, I loved this finale, I love this fixing series and I cannot wait to see more. This in every way surpasses the canon and I am not even joking.
This level of dickriding is something else.

This was someone who, instead of trying to rebuild his cause after a defeat, stalked his ex-girlfriend across a continent to kill her. But no, let's pretend he in any way cared about the faunus he pretended to fight for, even with his dying words.

... Blakes going to use his weapon in V7 now, isn't she?
That’s the worst part:
  • Profane Last Words: At the end of their climactic battle, Weiss sincerely apologizes to Adam for everything he's suffered because of her family. He only spits out, "Fuck you, Schnee." before trying to kill her. He's shot in the chest by Ruby, finally putting him down
  • Wrecked Weapon:
    • In the final battle of Volume 6, Gambol Shroud is destroyed by Adam as in RWBY, but this time Yang also loses her metal arm from blocking several attacks and finally gives up the ghost from the strain of her last Megaton Punch.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: Blake takes Wilt and Blush with her after Adam's death, both because her own weapon was destroyed and as a last momento of the man who was once her friend.

Also, Yangs arm being destroyed. Aside from making more difficult work for the animation team (An issue mister 'they should have done this' continues to not understand) this has Adam continue to spread pain and mutilate innocent people, where the original had Yang taking advantage of her arms increased durability to tank several attacks, thus showing her intellig- Ohhhh, that's why he changed it.
