Earlier on another site I saw the "How will RWBY deal with Salem" debate start again, with some saying that if you follow the overall narrative you will see that Salem will be talked down and find peace and there were those that question how one could even change the mind of someone like Salem.

And.....it honestly made me remember Naruto of all things. Most specifically Naruto and Pain/Nagato. I feel we have something similar here. A scenario where good old ass kicking won't really change anything and the cycle they are all stuck in remains, so instead it's a matter of the hero(s) convincing the antagonist(s) to that the current path won't get them what they truly want.

There's been a lot of great analysis on how good this final shot is but I'd like to bring up a new point.

Namely how hilarious it is in light of how the Ironwood defense squad used to justify his actions and try to paint RWBY's suggestion of calling for help to fend of Salem as stupid by insisting that only Atlas has a military and that Vacuo in particular would be completely unable to contribute against Salem's invasion of Atlas (pay no mind to Tyrian explicitly stating that "all would be lost" for Salem and her cabal if Ironwood called for aid from Vacuo).

Because man look at this fucking shit. There's clearly meant to be airships from all 4 Kingdoms there and we know which to type belongs to Vale, Atlas and Mistral. Which means the new airship type with the giant fucking cannons belong to Vacuo.

But oh no, I'm sure having a fleet or three or those ships showing up alongside hundreds of Huntsmen, a most likes fully trained and loyal Summer Maiden* and whatever form of ground forces Vacuo has would not be useful against Salem at all.

We all saw how powerful the dinky little "heavy cannon" on a cruise ship could he so I'd imagine those spinal cannons are pretty damned powerful.

Atlas wasn't that far from being able to nuke Monstra on their own anyway. If Vacuo had shown up with a fleet and helped blast Tempest Grimm out of the sky to give the air forces more breathing room then that alone could have turned the tide of the battle enough that Oscar might not need the cane. Not even mentioned how big a game changer it would be if Vacuo does have a Maiden in her prime at their disposal.

* Because at this point we've already played through every single variant of Maidens being indisposed for the good guys and reached a point in the story where a Maiden wouldn't overshadow everything so it's high time that we see a Maiden that just works.

Good music!

Also it occurs to me, expanding the RWBY-Verse could also mean a Vacuo centric novel centered on Nora, Ren, Oscar & Emerald.

RWBY volume 9 was enough to make me finally get around to getting a Crunchyroll account.

All the other cool anime on Crunchyroll like Nier: Automata, Gundam: Witch From Mercury, Chainsaw man, Demon Slayer, etc was enough to make me stick around after RWBY volume 9 was over.

But Crunchyroll's absurdly shitty service was enough to make me decide to say "fuck it" and cancel my subscription after all, despite still having a ton of shows to get through.

I mean for the love of god how hard is it to make a functional subtitle function on your App that's specifically dedicated to streaming shows from Japan to the rest of the world where people don't speak Japanese?

Netflix is honesty a superior anime streaming service because there at least I don't have to jump through hoops to get functional subtitles every time I want to watch an anime.

I feel like RWBY is probably one of the best shows on Crunchyroll simply because it's in plain English so you don't have to fight with the subtitle function every time you watch it.

I still kind of hope that Ruby gets some kind of Butterfly imagery in her design at some point.
"A smaller, more honest soul."
"One small act of kindness, in one small moment, led to such a marvelous transformation."
The Warrior in the Woods fighting on her own, and inspiring that one person to better themselves to protect others.
The constant use of butterflies in the show.

Honestly, Ruby since the first episode has been a the damn epicenter of the Butterfly Effect that has effected so many lives in Remnant.

Took a look at the special features of the Super Heroes and Huntsmen dvd. Two of them were flat out episodes/short movies from different DC shows.

One of them is from a Justice League Unlimited show or something were Wonder Woman, Super Man, Bat Man and Green Lantern (not Jessica) have to be turned into kids to stop the villain.

Seeing how they acted as kids the way they're acting in the RWBY movie feels very in-character. It's already established that the mind is influenced by the body in the DC verse. When turned into kids they act like kids, so acting more like teenagers when turned into teenagers is consistent.

I was re-watching the Tyrian VS RNJR fight cos some idiots said stupid stuff and it occurred to me.

Emerald said she can sense minds and her Semblance has to do with the mind.

Tyrians Semblance is to do with Aura, specifically ripping it away.

Maybe cos of that he could low key detect Jaune's Semblance enhanced Aura?
