DC Climate Strike ? Shut Down Business-As-Usual - Shut Down DC

In solidarity, a bunch of environmentalist organizations nationwide are hosting their own strikes, protests, and other such activities. Obviously, it would take quite a long time to list all these events out, as they're not just taking place in major cities- even small town, grassroots groups are getting into things.

Personally, I think I'm going to attend one of the protests, but I'm having a hard time deciding whether I want to engage with the local protest- which will probably have maybe 20 or so people active at it- or the protest in one of my state's larger cities, which will likely give more opportunities for networking and building connections. How about everyone else? What do you think about the protests in general?

Climate protests usually just end up being ignored. Climate strike now, this has potential. But the main problem is that striking isn't like protesting. It's a complex deal, with legal and organizational issues. Ones we've lost touch with as union membership has receded. I wouldn't know where to start with it, since there's zero union involvement in my workplace. Best I could do would be taking a day off and showing up to a protest.
