one theory I am seeing make the rounds is that Ruby's Silver Eyes (and/or Semblance) will be how they get out of the Ever After.
and honestly, this is one theory I can actually get behind.

a few things to consider;
- when CC seemingly warped them from that tunnel out into the open the area was flooded in a light in much the same way Ruby has flooded areas in light with her eyes
- Silver Eyes come from Light, who does have warping powers and when he left Remnant he faded out in particles on a breeze, much like how Ruby can break into her petals
- Ruby represents Dorothy's slippers, which is how she left Oz and returned to her home farm in Kansas, as most depictions of them are a Ruby Red, but originally were Silver
- They current goal is get to the Tree to get home, so given RWBY's track record the Tree is not likely to be how they actually get out in the end

so just imagine
after everything they go through
Ruby turns into Silver Petals, gathers the group in the storm, and they leave Ever After.
then we get the stinger/final shots, and they land in an open area surrounded by tress.
Weiss: *looking around* "Where are we? This isn't Vacuo."
Blake: *who is holding onto Yang, notices her shaking* "Yang...?"
Yang: *looking about to cry* "W-we're..."
Ruby: *putting a hand on Yang and Weiss before looking forward with a brighter and more confident smile than we have seen in a long time* "We're home..."
*and the scene ends with a shot of the Patch House*

I think there's some interesting potential to the idea, but I'll admit I don't see any point in going back to Patch and feel it'd be an unhelpful digression character & story wise.

Seems like the latest crossover comic is doing well. It's interesting to me because I've always been a bit uncertain about how big a draw the DC stuff will be for new viewers since I'm not really plugged into the DC Comic infosphere. Can't really stand your typical Marvel/DC stuff with the constant retcons and characters that are always bound to status quo while the writing and drawing rooms have a revolving door.

Also compared to most of the webcomics I read I often find that the crossover comics and even mainstream DC/Marvel comics in general look amateurish in comparison. Probably helps that webcomics are passion projects with a mostly consistent art style and the good ones are usually made by professionals who actually take their time instead of rushing to meet unreasonable deadlines but still.

Anyway if the comics are doing this well then the movies will probably have no trouble making their money back.

In other news Wayforward did a Q&A with the music composer for Arrowfell.

Also a reminder that we're getting close to the deadline for Arrowfell physical editions. That comic sales figure makes me curious how this game performed sales wise. I hope it did well enough to get sequels and expansion packs.

Neo is not the only representation of the Triple Goddess.
Ruby (Maiden), Summer (Mother), Maria (Crone).
Another Triple is Salem. Tower Maiden, Mother Queen, and Crone Grim.
The Triple Goddess also has a male counterpart, the Horned God. A being of duality (light/dark, night/day). Some depictions have antlers.
For this we have The Brother Gods, The God of Animals, and MAYBER Jabber over in Ever After.

Thoughts? (this stuff LITERALLY just hit me at work today during break while reading fanfiction).

I too have been heartened to see the comics doing well!

As someone who reads DC comics I definitely get where you're coming from, the revolving door of artists and writers can really make a series and character feel less coherent and makes for oscillating quality even before one takes in the retcons and such. I still find a lot to enjoy but its not a surprise to me I mostly stick to the New Earth era of DC where time actually did pass and actions had some degree of consequence.
Neo is not the only representation of the Triple Goddess.
That's an intriguing idea to be sure!

ya these Chibi's aren't new. I am pretty sure they were released before years ago.
huh....

Goddamn this was brutal though. I wonder if the vision quest is normally supposed to be kinder and something about the girls harsh and depressing situation or a decay in the Ever After itself (or just Herb) caused it to provide guidance in a much harsher way than it's intended to.

Aaaaah! That episode gave me too many thoughts and feelings, I don't even know what to say!

Fucking lol at Curious Cat roasting the Brothers over their god complex though. 😂

Also:
Right!? Just, gosh dang so much happened I feel overwhelmed!

I adore Curious just viewing them deranged assholes with terrible ideas.

I always tell people not to take Chibi for anything of anything but this episode makes it very hard XD

Yeah, just like, no fucking mercy. I wanna grab Ozpin by the lapels and shake him cos he had a big role in informing Ruby's martyrdom complex though it wasn't him alone.

Also I could definitely see that, its been consistently shown that RWBY's alien nature makes them both very vulnerable to the Ever After but also extremely dangerous to it.

what if the name of the mysterious person at the forge is "The Carpenter"?
Like, every other named character has shown up either in the opening or an episode, except for "The Carpenter" who was only just name dropped today. Meanwhile Forge has not yet shown up in an episode and the names we use to refer to them are just us spitballing names based on what we see them doing.
I mean, it wouldn't make sense given a Carpenter and a Blacksmith are 2 different jobs, but still.
Unless we somehow meet a Carpenter at the Lily Palace next episode.

Carpenter is apparently a reference to a poem..

Since they're not a Alice in Wonderland character it could be that they're just a reference to make it clear that Alyx in Ever After isn't just a 1:1 copy of the real world story its based on.

Curious is so fun. I love all his airborne poses. The CRWBY mentioned that his unique model was a pain to get working but you can also tell that the animators had so much fun animating him. xD

And I loved Ruby shaking a scroll in front of him like a toy to capture his attention. 😂

"Oooh! Luminous rectangle!"

If he doesn't come with them to Remnant at least they'll have his selfies as evidence. :3

And god these tiny Weiss expressions. XD

Though on that note let's also shake the God of Light for instilling the same martyrdom complex into Ozma in the first place.

Edit:
I love all the subtle little details in the dialogue. The writers did a great job this volume.

Mhm I love how expressive Curious's body language and facial expressions are, just amazing!

Gods just like Salem, to Cinder to Emerald has a cycle of repeated trauma and abuse, so to does Gol, to Ozma, to Ruby.

Yup, it all just fits together so damn well, I love it.

Seems this week's episode based discourse for certain folks is Blake's cat lines.
Yep, for the folks who forgot about:

1.) The Judgment of the Faunus, one of the Faunus origin myths, that claims that feuding humans and animals were turned into Faunus;

ii.) The fact that Blake hid her Faunus identity when she attended Beacon, out of wanting to distance herself from her background and past—she pretended to be human because that was simpler.

But connecting both of these into Blake's scene would require said folks to a.) have ever cared enough about a female character in the show to remember any details of her storyline and ////.) acknowledge the Faunus identity and experiences of a character who is not Adam Taurus.

Agreed.
Though to be at least a LITTLE fair they are probably confused because she just said "Cat" and not "Faunus" or "Cat Faunus". Coupled with Blake's earlier line of "One Cat to another" when trying to talk to Curious (and not let them eat Little).
