I manifested this subforum into existence with the power of positive thinking.

Anyway, I wondered about having some kind of book club? Reading books that people recommend and posting about your thoughts on them.

The slight issue on my part is that a big part of my motivation for this is that I've not read a book that's got any actual weight in like, months and months. Not since my uni book club folded.

So, since I doubt people want to read the trashy romance books I've been reading, I asked some people, and @FreeWhisky recommended There There as a book to read, and it looks quite good, so, uhh, I'm gonna get that on my phone.

I'll start it tomorrow, and maybe post whatever thoughts I have on it once i finish it?

Other people can obviously also recommend and discuss books, I just decided I wanted a book club, so I'm inflicting that whim on you.

I'll also post some thoughts on There There (by Tommy Orange) and why I think it's essential reading, especially for white people, and extra especially for white Americans. I'll not lie it's sad at times. Starting with the prologue it pulls no punches, but it is also beautiful and moving, and as a first nations person I find it really important to promote stories about us, by us.
