I can't vote in American elections since I'm not American, but if I could vote I would vote for Bernie. Seems like the best options compared to my values which are quite far left.

People have about a year to convince me not to vote for Bernie.

And even then I might still just vote for Dario Hunter

I don't really like any of the front-runners. Gravel might be good to push the window left, but he's also not great, on account of being ancient as all fuck.

Republicans are most likely going to nominate Trump. It's now a matter of who the democrats will use to challenge Trump with.

Jay Inslee because his only platfprm is fighting climate change and he is my govornor and I think Washington is slightly less shitty than a lot of the country.

Or Bernie since he helped lead me to anarchism.

My own personal priority is who will deliver the biggest win.

I think for a candidate to do well, he has to be charismatic enough and enough of a blank slate, so that folks put what they want in the blanks, instead of what they don't want. The latter is why Hillary lost- people just didn't like her, so they took the worst of what they knew about her.
The worst Democrat is better than Trump, so winning is the primary goal.

The second criteria I'm looking for is ruthlessness. I want a president who will bend and break whatever rules are necessary to stop the Republicans. They're that much of a threat in my eyes that extreme measures are needed, and have proven that we don't do them first, they will. Ruthlessness only works if you win though, and have enough votes in Congress to enforce your will.

Ideology is my third criteria, but not that important. Ultimately you can only pass what goes through Congress, and there's a ton of low hanging fruit so you can do good just cancelling Trump's executive orders.

The candidates that I think have the best chance of a big win are Harris, Buttgieg, and especially Beto. None of those three have too much experience, and the last two have a real charisma. Harris I'm a little more uncertain about, but I think she could unify the party better than any other candidate.

In terms of ruthlessness: Beto has the edge here, as he's on record as supporting court-stacking. Harris is open to it, but I'm less convinced she'd do it. Buttgieg hasn't gone on record, and has a history of bothsidesing it some, so I am somewhat wary on him.

Ideologically, I'd prefer Warren, but she just isn't likable. Bernie is almost as good ideologically, but I think too many folks will assume the worst with him, and I have a hard time seeing him getting any of the other bases on board.

What appeals to you about Biden?

I've been wondering about this in general recently, what people see in him, because he just didn't make much of an impression on me in '08

I bet Andrew Yang will get nominated by the Democrats due to his unexpected popularity. Happened to Trump in 2016, and I see history repeating again in a somewhat different way.

I'm going to be honest, if the choice were O'Rourke, Yang, or Biden I'd stay home.

O'Rourke is owned by big energy, Yang has been playing hard with the race realist memes, and Biden is a serial creep. Basically I would be opposed to anyone Obama endorses, I'd rather not have more presidents who in a just world would be on trial at the Hague.

Frankly, I think Bernie is the only viable candidate. Left or Right, people are tired of status-quo neoliberalism and they want an alternative. Almost all of the Democrats running are in some way your typical center-leaning status-quo obsessed neoliberals, so they all stink of the current (well, not current current, but you get the idea) establishment.

Bernie and Yang (and maybe Warren if you're feeling generous) are the only ones breaking from that near as I can tell, and Yang seems to be trying to offer watered-down racism as opposed to Trump's full bore fascism. Which won't work, since if the right wants racism they'll be voting for the guy who gives them fascism. Why go on a diet if someone's offering you a buffet?

Bernie or bust.

Nobody else is quite on his level, in terms of policy and commitment. Warren is closest, but even she's said she's explicitly a capitalist.

AOC is 29, she's ineligible. She'll be a decent candidate in 2028 though if she doesn't just stay in the house or seek a different office.

Honestly, Biden is the worst person running aside from like Tulsi Gabbard (and that's a toss up tbh,) and like not much better than voting republican given the guy's absolutely awful legislative history, his comments and again how much of a creep he is.

Really one of the greatest legislative achievements of the Obama Administration was getting Biden out of Congress and putting him somewhere he couldn't harm as many people.

Wat? Because he had donors that work for oil companies? You can't exist in texas without touching oil money. I'll need a little more than that.
